Ted,
I am going to go over there on Saturday and pick out a few of the best ones and I will let you know what I get. I am going to have first choice, and you are #2. When and if you decide on one, I can drop it off on the way to Ludington.
Anyone else want to get in line?
A few more photos:
OK,
I went over to Farmington Hills today and picked all of them up. Got the following:
1 non working Dayton 3/4 HP Model #1Z707X
1 working Dayton 3/4 HP Model #1Z707S
1 working Dayton 3/4 HP Model #1Z707Y
1 working Kalamazoo 1/2 HP Model #2SK7 (Gave to my brother)
1 working Kalamazoo 1/2 HP Model #2SK7
1 working Dayton 3/4 HP Model #4Z909E
1 working Baldor 1/2 HP Model #712
All are missing every part outboard of the main casting/base, motor and shaft.
One big Dayton has a non working switch.
A few have cut off cords (With temporary lamp cords and plugs). I will update list with which ones.
One has the spin direction reversed.
All the Daytons are discontinued model numbers.
These would make fine buffers, but you would need nuts and spacers and flanges (Cheap at Graingers) and buffs.
Not sure which I want to keep yet. They run real smooth, and at least a couple of the Daytons have automatic braking feature. Kalamazoos have built in quench tray and were originally a belt sander and grinder combo.
Photos later.
