OK - just received my Quincy 60 gal comp - and managed to push it into the corner. I see it mounts with four bolts - presumably directly into the crete slab. I have not yet pulled the attached manual, but does anyone have any experience or recommendations regarding resilient mounts , or if I should use a wood or other buffer between the comp legs and the slab? I mounted my 1-1/2 hp pool motor on a triple decker sandwich of rubber and pressure treated wood - and that seemed to have made it real quiet - same thing here perhaps?

If you're looking for cheap and easy, use hockey pucks. I have my mill and lathe mounted on them and they work great. Trying to work up the ambition to do my 80 gal air compressor also.

I wouldn't mount it directly to the slab. Look at mcmaster carr or grainger for isolator feet. Essentially rubber pads that bolt on. Once you have those, you don't have to mount it to the slab at all.

I didn't mount mine on pucks, but simply put it on thick neoprene industrial rubber floor mats. It works OK and is moveable within a moments notice.

My 80 gallon IR came on a pretty large pallet. I left it mounted on the pallet. Pretty easy to move it around but still stable. The pallet is large enough that there is no chance of it tipping.

tuttle, ok
I agree^^^
Mine is on a pallet, been there 12 years. And like usa1 said, it is some what moveable, for maintenance or to sweep behind it.

I went with these for my new Eaton. Got them from McMaster for about $7.50 each. They are rated at 300lbs each so its a bit overkill although my compressor weighed 950lbs with the shipping pallet!! They are available in all different load ratings from 35lbs to 600lbs each.

Mine is still on the pallet - but it makes it taller than I planned..!
