picked up this body hammer and a herbrand dizzy wrench today for a few bucks. The body hammer doesn't have any marks that I've uncovered, but the casting isn't super clean. Its my first body hammer though and it was $2.00 so I'm happy.

heres my this afternoon find.
not a you **** find....unless you say I **** because I paid to much:lol:
found on CL yesterday and the guy had one listed for $100 and the other for $140(different listings). it took me hours to pull the trigger and I texted the guy and asked if hed take $200 for the pair. he said sure.
its a lot more than id usually spend, but I wanted 'em.
and I just last week sold I bicycle I built for $450, so I had some extra dough to do stupid stuff with:lol:
starrett 2" to 6" mic kit and a dial indicator.

Beatcad, that back plunger indicator is a Starrett #645, very robust. It has been superceded by the #650, which I have. It isn't quite a you **** deal, but as long as the indicator functions properly it is way cheaper than new.

The mic...I hope you can use it. I don't like the multi anvil micrometers because you have to check it to a standard every time you swap them out. I prefer just having a 0-6" set. If you can use it more power to you!

This was from Sunday,

img_1945.jpg

Some Duro hex drive socket set and ratchet. Circle H Craftsman sockets, a snap on socket, and a interesting craftsman side screwdriver?

img_1945.jpg

Anybody know what this is exactly?
img_1950.jpg

I'm going to put it with my circle H socket collection since it looks like it's from that time period.

Been so busy moving that my schedule has been messed up and I have not been on my game lately but things are settling down now and should return to normal soon. I finally got to a Friday garage sale and though I searched hard, I could only find a purse and light bulb to leave with.
01416.jpg

Feeling empty handed, I hit a couple unplanned sales on the way home and luckily I did. These sales were not advertised or at least did not mention "tools" in the ad, I just looked for signs on the way home from the morning estate sale. First unplanned sale had this Huot Drill index with bits for $20, more than I wanted to spend but I bit the bullet and pulled out the cash. It's 9/16-1" by 1/16ths, complete and in good condition.
01413.jpg

One or two sales with nothing then I saw this old Kennedy sitting in a Radio Flyer wagon and walked over to have a look. The owner spoke out, "$10 for the old tool box with contents". I noticed the lid was jacked up near the lock and the drawers would not open but it felt heavy so I took a gamble, figured $10 was a deal and a half on the box with door intact so what to lose. After getting home, I jimmied the lock and found a Mitutoyo Mic, inside mic set and dial gauge along with lots of carbide cutting tools for a lathe. There are lots of misc things I still need to sort through but those are the highlights. Hope you guys have a great weekend!

Nine: Didn't take you long to get back on your game. $10 for a machinist box with some cool stuff in it deserves a well earned YS.

i also really like those Huot metal drill bit boxes and have gathered up a few lately. your drill bits look almost new too.

good luck this weekend guys and i hope you all score something.

Got that same box a few weeks ago at a flea market, except it was sitting on top of Kennedy 278 rolling cart...I asked how much thinking he was going to upwards of $150. He said " $40 and it's yours". Never reached for my wallet as fast in my life ! I'll post some pics when I get home later. Real nice pick up there for $10, especially with the goodies inside...Happy,Happy,Happy for ya !

I was pretty shocked when I got back to the truck and looked on EvilBay to see what they were selling for. Now I'm even more shocked that it was there when I got there, sale was well advertised and I showed up 1-1/2 hours after it opened. I had no idea they were that much$$$ and I almost paused at the $8 tag!!:shocking:

I sent out a feeler on the Channellocks and if that falls through I'll let you know!!

Here's the pics of the Kennedy I promised earlier. Need a restoration or leave as is? For $40, I think I could sink some money into it, that damn brown wrinkle paint though is expensive !

Pretty much this based on the pics. K used to recommend cleaning their boxes with WD-40, and that also generally works well. Use a stiff nylon brush; the kind with the handle on top work well. Clean and lube the slides with DoorEze...

I have that exact box (and a second in mechanic's red) and that is all either of mine needed.

My buddy and fellow picking partner swears by W-D 40 also. Here's the Kennedy 278 I got last year, it was holding old paint cans and I had no choice but to strip it down and refinish. It's missing the center drawer because my neighbors landscaper ran over it with his riding mower as it was drying in the sun ! It was the final piece, that tore my heart out. Think he should have gotten a lawn mower DUI as I spotted some Coronas in his pick-up !

Nochina: I'm not sure where you live, but this Kennedy box that is missing it's lid might have your missing drawer and it's only $40.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/tls/4521718573.html

if it had the lid i'd buy it because i do like those handles.

first time i heard about a tool box getting the worst of a lawnmower wreck.

good luck

That is a possibility: but be sure to check the width of both the drawer front, and the drawer tray. There could be some differences between the two.

If that works out, then check the drawer and slide rail height. HOWEVER, the depth, front to rear, is certain to be shorter in the top box compared to the roller...

Outlaw: great points all and i rarely see those handles on the Kennedy boxes so i might have jumped at the chance to help a lawnmower DUI.

have a great weekend guys and nice stuff. I've never seen a Proto rubber hammer before and i might own 15 of them in various styles and colors. nice score Alinc.
