spent most of the day coming up with a plan for the wifes next yard art project for her blog.

while she was "planning" i cut the grass.

cutting, welding and grinding, i set my shirt on fire twice, and flashed myself once.

after that, and it was starting to cloud up i said "F it", i'm going for a short ride.

harley fired right up, and actually running good, less than 5 miles from the house, i ran outta gas :shocking:

pushed the bike across 2 lanes of traffic and into a gas station, and promptly scorched the back of my right leg on the pipe..

on the way home, it started to rain

i quit

Got some scrap lumber from work and put it beside my caddy. Reorganized a bit by the garage door. Some of the scrap lumber will be used to help me mount my peg board.

Over the weekend, I cut and milled all of the pieces for the first of four cabinets. Sanded and Applied the first coat of Poly to the parts which will be "inside" the cabinet.

I also cut (in the garage/on the driveway) all of the door casing and baseboards for my upstairs hallway.

Man you've got a TON of room in this garage! Great spot for some benches, drill press, compound saw..... ;)

It's all still coming together, but not viewable in the picture is a 14' long wall of cabinets with a 10' long workbench situated in front of the Suburban.

I really need to get in there and clean up my mess so I can fit my truck back in the garage beside the Suburban. To the right of the red 78 Chevy I have my welder, air compressor, etc lined down that wall, will probably do a heavier workbench/welding table over on that side at some time, and I have a 6' long butcher block top to go on top of the tool box which will park between the windows when I get that spot cleaned up.

Didn't do much this weekend in the garage. Washed the wife's old car in the rain, then pulled it inside to clean the interior, then parked it at the end of the driveway to list it for sale. While I was doing that, this little guy flew in the garage to escape the rain, and wound up in a cobweb in the corner. Picked him out and pulled all the cobwebs off. He sat in my hand for about 2 minutes, I wasn't sure if he was hurt or not, but he finally took off and buzzed his way back to his tree outside the kitchen window where my wife keeps the hummingbird feeders.

cool hummingbird!

I have been working on the retaining wall project and just got the last cap light wired in yesterday. Then I cleaned the garage up and got a lot to throw out on the side of the curb for trash tomorrow morning.

I've been wanting to reduce my garage to one wall of stuff but it's very hard to figure out how to do it with all of the stuff I have and the little space I have!!

I've been on the edge about getting a big toolbox and put all of my tools into the toolbox and get rid of some shelves and cabinets by condensing everything down. I need to step back and take a inventory of my stuff and think how it will be best to store everything.

Either way here is the retaining and driveway project's light progress,

Thanks, I picked the little guy up, and he spread out his little wings and held as if he knew I was going to clean the cobwebs off. He chilled out in my hand long enough for my wife to grab the camera, then jetted off. Didn't seem to have any issues flying once he took off so I guess he's ok.

Welcome to The Garage! I've got a buddy totally into guitar's that would cream his jeans over that stand. Any chance of selling those, I'm sure there's a market.

Started hanging brackets on the out side of the garage. Getting ready for a 24' SINCLAIR NEON SIGN that will hang 18 feet in the air over the garage door along the side of the diner

Got a new toy in the mail. Cleaned it up, sharpened and honed the blade and played with it in the garage for a while.

It's a Craftsman 3732, which is a Stanley No. 65 that they made for Craftsman to sell. This thing was spotless when it came in the mail. I'm pretty happy.

After the morning outing, cleaned out the roll cabinet and the power tool "vault", it was badly needed. Ended up with a 4 by 8 table of **** that hit the dumpster. Don't really need that new roll-top now I bought last month but hey, its here now.

Nothing like a tool cabinet dump and cleaning to make things right!

Put together another shelf unit for hardware that got sorted out. Tomorrow got a couple of bolt bins to mount on a cart so I can move it around to where we are working.

Like the idea of the guitar stand, grandson will like that, nice work Historiker and welcome.

Got my JD BC1600 brush cutter running properly again, cleaned the spark arrestor, carb and put some fresh gas in it. Ready too go again, just in time as I know my Olathe property is going to be at least knee high from the rain and hot sun we've been having. Not bad for 13 years old....that metal blade makes short work of weeds and even saplings

Over the weekend I spent some time making some tool holders for some of my prybars. Sadly, the first two efforts failed due to my attempt to cheap out on the material I was using, lightweight whitewood. On Sunday I decided to disassemble a no-longer used mobile base and repurpose the 3/4" plywood for the tool holders. A bunch of cutting and drilling later, I've got 12", 17", 17", 25" and 31" Craftsman/Wilde prybars hanging on one end of my backwall unit, along with my 25" long 1/2" HF Breaker Bar. (I'll try to post pics tonite.)

Last night I disassembled my new-used Wilton NotABullet and cleaned it up. Well, mostly disassembled it, I didn't remove the main nut because of the pin. I think I'll pull that tonite and finish cleaning the innards. I picked up new jaws for it on my way in to work this morning, so hopefully all I'll need is a roll pin, a new nut and washer for the swivel base spindle and I'll put it back together.

Project number one is a Cylinder head coral, to keep my spare heads off the floor and out of the way. I took a bunch of engines and spare heads to my little house but I like to keep enough parts to build 3 engines in case I have issues with the one in the Skylark....

I was able to angle the bottom piece of 2x4 so that the heads tilt back against the wall and the "coral" is not actually holding them against the wall just there in case the head were to tip forward... Once I got it built I decided to top it off with a quick removal 9.5" deep work shelf. Friction fit, no hinges or screws holding the top down.. Just pull it forward an inch and remove it. When weight is added to holds tighter so it will not accidentally come off. The top is made of my favorite medium duty materials that I use for shelving and work benches 3/8" plywood on top of 5/8" OSB, together they are pretty strong and low cost. The OSB gives the strength and the plywood gives a decent finish.

The second project was a table saw rolling table so that I can roll it around, level the table on un-even ground, and it is the same height as the 30" portable work stations that I will use as outfeed tables... The fixed feet adjust up and down about 1 inch. The handy little setup rolls under the miter saw table!!

About 1/8" clearance under there!!! I will take it, consider it a win!

Pics, first is the prybar holder, the second is the vise scattered on the top of my bench.
