Definitely a Wayne Dalton door with their Torquemaster spring system. Doors have to have some sort of counterbalance, so manufacturers aren't going to "get rid of springs". The Torquemaster has a spring(s) inside the tube that is wound by the gear assembly on the end(s). It's intended for greater safety and to keep it constantly lubricated.
This may just be me but I don't see a spring on there at all... It looks like it's supposed to be set up with a torsion spring but it's not there and I just bought this door last month so it's new.
Yes they are! you can get torsion springs just about anywhere, even off the internet. Torque Tubes not so much.
Even if I don't have the exact same spring on my truck, I can either convert it to a different wire size or cut a new spring on site, can't do that with a Torque Tube!
