Finished the floor and hung the TV

I think the floor came out great!
I am walking on it now but still want to give the clear urethane more cure time before moving anything heavy on it.

I hung the TV today:

Next in line:
Workbench top and edging.
Install drawer and door pulls.

I mounted the TV for what I thought would be the best view for where I intend to put a couple of chairs and sitting at the counter. There will also be other stuff like pictures or signs on that wall later that will even out the look.
The wall mount also swivels, articulates and tilts.
I am really happy with this mount (I would highly recommend it).

Bought an old gas pump today.

It's a Tokheim 39 model built in 1951.



I will restore it and put a globe on top.

Here is a picture of a restored pump of the same model. This is what I want it to look like:



I am still hunting for an air meter to put on the island as well.

Workbenches done

I completed my workbenches. I special ordered pure black and pure white Armstrong VCT tiles from Lowes and cut them into 5" squares. I sanded the tiles with 80 grit and coated them with Wolverine BondTite 1101 epoxy. Wow, that stuff really self-levels nicely. I then installed 1 1/4" aluminum edging. The 1/8" tiles are glued onto to 1 1/8 OSB flooring so the edging fits perfectly.

New Stuff

I went to a petroliana dealer in Odessa, Tx yesterday and purchased a nicely restored and operational Eco air meter and a 1949 self-serve Coke machine:



I got the gas price sign thrown in with the deal when I bought the gas pump last week. Gas was 24.9 cents when I got my driver's license so that's what my price will be.





The Coke machine is in good overall shape and in working condition. It looks like it was re-painted a while ago though and has some defects. I will do a real nice restore job on it down the road. The gas pump restore will come first on my list. I hope to start on that soon. I think I will paint the side panels on the pump white and the front panels red to match the scheme of the air meter.

Update

I just put up the Texaco sign today.
I also am in the middle of the gas pump restore job.
I am using SPI epoxy primer on all the internal and external parts.

New lights

I bought these green and white porcelain antique lights in perfect condition on Ebay:



Just installed them today.
I bent some 1/2" conduit with a pipe bender, then threaded, bead blasted, coated with SPI epoxy primer and finished them off with PPG black acrylic urethane. I painted the just the top cap of the fixture black too as it was painted cast iron.
I installed one on the left side wall also but I don't have power to that one yet. I couldn't get the color balance right for this shot because the new light is incandescent and the lights under the canopy are recessed CFLs.

My colors:

Interior: (All Sherwin Williams)
Dark Green - "Greens" SW6749 semi-gloss
Red Stripe - "Ablaze" SW6870 (This is very close to Texaco Red) gloss
Light Green - "Lacewing" SW6729 mixed at 75% semi gloss
Ceiling - "White Willow" SW6728 flat
Both the dark green and red stripe were coated with waterborne polyurethane for protection.

Exterior:
Dark Green Trim - "Perennial Green" SW2932
Body - "Nacre" SW6154

Color codes for PPG automotive paints are as follows:
Texaco Red - 70008
Texaco Green - 42783
Texaco Silver - 2518 in PPG (and 42159 in Sherwin Williams)

Texaco Fire Chief pumps (regular) were Red and Texaco Sky Chief pumps (premium) were silver. Diesel Chief pumps were green.

I bought the PPG 70008 in the Shopline acrylic urethane for my Tokheim 39. PPG Shopline and PPG Omni are essentially the same.

I am going to do the lubster in the green/white, and the Boyle-Dayton in a Sky Chief motif.
We are going to run a double stripe of green around the inside of the new part of the shop, and the side where the photo was taken from is going to be a "western saloon" "waiting room"...
