Just to be clear for the couple of you who questioned this, I spoke to a dealer for a few reasons.

One because I haven't seen any pricing here, still haven't, nor any on their site and I am interested.

BendPak wouldn't share anything about any pricing period, regular or group, without talking to a dealer. I needed to know how much a lift costs. Pretty straightforward. I call the company, they say ask a distributer. Ok.

I've also spoken to other distributors for other manufacturers and I can say I have learned a lot so I'm glad I didn't just pick one quick for this buy, think I knew it all by reading spec's and order it. Lot going on with the differences and I wanted to be more informed.

I wasn't trying to be a spoiler for a group buy like a few of you seem to suggest could happen. I'd like to possibly be a part of it. It isn't a secret guys. This is a public forum. Asking a distributer about pricing is not a ridiculous thing to do.

I'm not sure what is going on with the company and its distributors. Many companies do group buys. It brings in those who wouldn't maybe have ordered through a local distributer. It's not a big secret or something most companies would think they are doing under the radar. The email response my distributer got from Bendpak makes me wonder about the company more than the group buy. Strange response to a distributer if you are doing the group buy. Whatever. I just want a lift, I'm not here for company politics. I need to pick one and see pricing or move on.

I am still hoping Mystic will send me pricing or maybe someone else here can share it. There are a lot of us asking and hoping to help the eventual price.

I was going to check out the MD-6XP ... but I'm out.
Pricing was there, now gone? Nobody will give pricing, so is it really a deal?

To much for me, so good luck all.

Just to be clear for the couple of you who questioned this, I spoke to a dealer for a few reasons.
As did I. In my case, as I mentioned, I was quoted a straight up price (without group buy) that was close to the group buy prices provided. Since I was a bit underwhelmed at the apparent discount, I re-contacted to make sure I was comparing apples and apples (so to speak), or whether there had been a marked increase or something to explain the surprisingly close costs. Turns there hasn't been a change in the price I was quoted, and the price really was that close, so I elected to go with a distributor who had spent substantial time helping me (my experience talking to BenPack was also the same as yours).

Not at all sure why anyone would get all twisted up about examining all the options available. If it's not an under the table deal, then is nothing a dealer/distributor can do to upset the group buy, it's out of their hands. But if it were to be shady (not at all saying this is), then wouldn't you want to know before things go badly? Again, not this deal, but I've seen similar "amazing deals" turn out to be QA rejects that were supposed to be scrapped, but were diverted and sold only to find there was no warranty and no recourse. The original poster appears to be dealing directly with BendPak and with orders placed direct with the manufacturer, so that appears to be impossible here, but again, what's the problem with getting all the information you can to make an informed decision?

For what it's worth, my distributor contact (posted previously) also indicated his opinion that the apparent terms of this deal violated his agreement with BendPak, but that's between the distributors and BendPak. Me, I'm going to go with the distributor who spent time discussing all the details to make sure I got exactly what I needed, and provided information needed to insure it was installed safely in spite of my thinner than required slab. I would highly recommend anyone with ANY questions regarding their purchase call Dave (wherever you buy, he's a great guy and happy to help even when you are not ready to buy from him), because in my experience, calling BendPak isn't going to get you the answers.

TheBadDog,

"Close" is a relative term. Could you please be more specific?

I've done a little due diligence and the best price I've found for a XPR-10A-168 is about 10% higher than the group deal.

Best regards,

Scott

I don't want to speak for him, and mine is lift plus some accessories, but like I said, it is VERY close. I would have to look again, but all said and done the cold-call price he gave me was less than 5% higher. In fact, once I sorted out apples-to-apples (for instance, the accessory kit included in my price was extra on the bulk price) the difference was just over $100 (on ~$2800).

Nothing wrong with giving him a call to see what he will price it. Worst case, you'll know exactly what the group buy is saving you. I'll also note that my initial quote was from January, and he was still honoring it. When I mentioned the group buy (I was up front with him about the whole thing), he even offered to "sweeten the pot" further, though his deal for a cold call was already good. So don't be afraid to mention that if you like. He also said he would take care of anyone who didn't get in on the group buy, and I'm pretty sure I was not the only one to mention it to him.

f the dealers. One of the biggest turnoffs with Bendpak have been the dealers. They have always acted like they were doing me a favor when I was about to drop $10,000. If a dealer is reading this--people don't want to shop with you because your customer service *****! On the other hand Bendpak the company has always been great.

My local Bendpak dealer was very nice. Torrington CT.
He spent time discussing the differences and was low key.
I've had one follow up call that was also low pressure.

I'd say call another guy if you had a bad experience.

I have had no response to my post or PM for pricing.

I do want a lift and like the low profile unit Bendpak sells. I can't seem to figure out why its $1000 more than a comparable Atlas though. I can get a few 2x4's for elevating the one car this is an issue with.

As one who is still learning differences, why is the Bendpak so popular? Folks on another thread seem to be happy with an Atlas. Not derailing the OP's buy, if it's happening. Curious what is better on a Bendpak is all.

The nice dealer is Brian in Torrington, CT
860-626-9633

He was about $120 over the group buy pricing. If I went Bendpak I'd use him for sure.

I have nothing to add or subtract to the group buy effort, but just wanted to say that 2-1/2 years in, with my Bendpak XPR10A, and it's the least thing I have to worry about in the shop. Completely trouble-free (and I am not affiliated with Bendpak or any of their dealers/installers in any way).

On the lift's first anniversary (June 2013) I had the same installer come back and do a once-over inspection (needed only a minor adjustment on the equalization cables) and he gave it a clean bill of health. I don't remember what he charged me, but I'm thinking it was either $60 or $75 (this also included inspecting an older__January 2006__Eagle floorplate lift I had them install about a month after the BP; I brought this one down with me from OH when I moved but it was still packed in a container when the new BP was installed).

I can't comment about BP's customer service, because quite honestly, I have never needed any__that's the observation I wanted to make; when you pick a good product, customer service is a moot point. I'd much rather have a good trouble-free product, than to have bend over-backwards customer service people that you're calling too often. Clearly, there is nothing wrong with having both!

For perspective, the BP lift is in daily operation for my home-based BMW service business, so it's cycled up & down numerous times a day, with zero complaints. The Eagle is in my personal (attached) garage, and might go up/down once or twice a month (or less).

Congratulations to all of you that eventually take delivery of your Bendpak, as I predict you're going to love it!

Mystic195,

What does that mean?

Best regards,

Scott

Someone(bendpak dealer) bitched about the Bendpak "manufacture direct" group buy so bendpak put the stop to it. Mystic had to create a business account to move foward with the group buy.
