thanks for the link rocket.

One thing you have over the "regular" style pliers rack is that yours is adjustable. Meaning if you have a tool that won't fit in the slot you can open it up it up a hair and work your way down.

Just in case you're wondering what I mean by "regular" I attached a pic.

That's an old pic because I've acquired more pliers. I was thinking of getting ANOTHER pliers rack but I think I might go for a modified version of what you have.

Cool rack - for those who haven't seen the thread I wrote when I came up with this, there is a lot of information there (link is in my signature)

I wonder why you couldn't use short lengths of pvc or metal pipe over the threaded rod?

I would use some metal pipe and then you would only have bolt up each end, for accuracy I would tack a hand full of pipes together at one end so you could cut multiple tubes at once on a chop saw, you would probably want to clamp it quite well though.

I played around with this and could not get consistent square cuts (square to the axis of the tube - not square tube) with the tools I have.

I used washers and the HF rulers on my rack.

Not a heavy file user here, but why would you not want to store them on metal?

rust issues?
