One thing you have over the "regular" style pliers rack is that yours is adjustable. Meaning if you have a tool that won't fit in the slot you can open it up it up a hair and work your way down.

Just in case you're wondering what I mean by "regular" I attached a pic.

That's an old pic because I've acquired more pliers. I was thinking of getting ANOTHER pliers rack but I think I might go for a modified version of what you have.

I would use some metal pipe and then you would only have bolt up each end, for accuracy I would tack a hand full of pipes together at one end so you could cut multiple tubes at once on a chop saw, you would probably want to clamp it quite well though.

I played around with this and could not get consistent square cuts (square to the axis of the tube - not square tube) with the tools I have.

I used washers and the HF rulers on my rack.

shop around... sometimes you can get it cheaper. I know there was a group buy on here for a similar design not too long ago. You might be able to jump on it because last I checked the guy was just starting to make his own racks...

I would like to build a rack like this using hardboard for just that purpose.

Just picked up the gear to make these , i like

Got 10 black spur 12 inch steel rules for 85pence eachn amazon.

Got 5 m of m6 bar for 10 quid and a pack of nylocs for 3 quid at screwfix

I dont have facilitys or knowledge to powder coat so ill just spray them black with my big tin of chassis black.
