Steevo, I admire your ingenuity, but I'd be concerned that you've just given the squirrels a highway to the bird feeder.....

I hung mine about 8 feet down from a big tree branch and they shinnied up and down to it easily, I even put a piece of conduit over the chain but it was no impediment - what finally worked was to grease the pipe. It was pretty fun watching them trying to work out how to get to it, a couple tried a mighty leap either from the branch or the trunk, a couple managed to get on paw on the edge but couldn't hold on....

Once they figured out they couldn't get to it, they gave up and now leave it alone.

After putting 30 miles on the Corvette (the first real miles in a very long time), I taught my daughter how to polish chrome. I can't wait to give her a ride in it - I plan on putting the GoPro in the car aimed on her face so I can catch her reaction when I floor it.

Excuse me for asking, but you CANT "remove" pitting, can you? You can remove the rust in the pits, but the pits themselves will remain.

JasonJ, I collect fox stuff of all types. I would be interested in where you found the fox opener.

Also to all who are looking at the vice brake, just FYI, they are held in place by magnets and are very capable for light work. But they will shift and break loose on you if you apply too much pressure. I have the Grizzly six inch and have scraped up the knuckles a few time by over stressing the pressure of the vise jaws.

We stripped this table mechanically and applied a gel stain. Then, clear sealer and urethane by Vermont Natural Coatings.

I'm using Arm-R-Seal. I love this stuff. Protects very well, and really brings out the grain. I believe both Rockler and Woodcraft carry it. Not sure where else you can buy it locally.

Picked up my '00 RM250 frame from the powder coater and got both the front and rear suspension bits cleaned up, serviced and bolted up:

Also, finally got time to prep and polish a bike part on my newly set up 3 phase 2hp baldor buffer (using a 3hp rotory phase converter). The buffer is a beast. After a couple hours of sanding - the buffing bit only took a few minutes. The results are ASTOUNDING!

Very nice Vankaye! That's an unusual color on the swing arm but it looks like they did a good job for you. My buffer's a 1 3/4 hp and IT's a beast so I can only imagine your 3 hp ... be careful or you'll put an eye out with that thing son. LOL!

My buffer motor is 2hp. Its my rotary converter thats 3hp. I can't imagine buffing on more. As it is - the part heats up instantly and burns thru the glove pretty quick. Now what I need is something to speed up the sanding. Spent 10x on sanding than I did buffing. I guess its all in the prep work eh?

I had a 440 + 6 Roadrunner Superbird years ago when I live in the big city. My son was 6 months old and my brother and I were working on another car and we needed a part from a speed shop on a Sat and it was close to closing time. My wife was shopping..................I put my son in the car seat in the back seat and my brother and I got in the bird and we tool off. At a stoplight a small block something or other pulled up along side of us and reved his "starter motor" under his hood. At the green we both stepped into it. Of course I beat the guy across the 6 lane intersection. When I backed out of the gas and the roar of the 6 pack stopped my son let out a big WAHHHHH!!!!!!(I;m scared-surprised cry) My brother and I got a laugh out of that.

Here's the Harley Powder **** I started and finished up Friday in Tattered Black, a fairly traditional silver vein. The sun was hit and miss today (and the harvest's pollen is heavy) so I took a few inside and out. It's a cool color for sure.

I managed a little more woodwork for the wardrobe but most of the morning was spent shouting at people in the far east trying to get a reccurent problem with my broadband resolved (it drops the adsl line up to three times a day) I hate far eastern call centres, they all have very heavy accents I sometimes find hard to understand, and really irritatingly will not deviate from their script so everything takes twice as long as they have to go through all the repetitive and annoying niceties every time they want to say something. I did I think at one point suggest that if they can't resolve the issue I would set fire to their router and post the ashes back to them.

Very nice looking. I had some silver vein powder coating done on a couple of bumpers for my Jeep a few years back. It matched the grey textured body panels fairly well and looked great when completed.

Last night I replaced the backup lights in our coach and cleaned the inside of the windows after removing the screens and washing them.

I also machined a small spacer to install on our door so the stop would have enough friction to function properly as it is showing a little wear.

Wired up the power supplies and main control board to the laser cutter upgrade. Tonight will be the XY limit switches and hopefully the stepper motors. It *should* be functional at that point, but I don't count on it. It has at least fired up and the power supply laser test button works, so we're closer to being operational.

Pulled the headers out of the Falcon, I think something has set up house keeping in them.

I had the same problem with my vette and they filled up my #8 cylinder with corn gluten that I was treating my lawn with! wtf I was so pissed.

Thanks Mike! I don't know if you've ever seen it done that way, but a candy topcoat looks wicked on top of any silver vein and really makes the light and dark areas pop. This is Wilder Red over Black/Silver ...

Yes, that makes for an awesome accent. I fabricated some turbo ductwork a few years ago on a sand drag bike that I built a guy and had a local powder coater put some kandy purple over some silver vein. Looked awesome and what was nice was that it never looked dirty. The quad I built for him a year or so prior had all of the aluminum ductwork polished and some chrome and it was a nightmare to keep it looking good.

The only downside to the powder coating was over time the sand being thrown up from the front smooth buff tires did somewhat dull the finish, but then again it did on the polished aluminum/chrome as well just quicker.
