Not a single problem with the screen. I'm coming up on 3 years of use.

Good to hear, as they are nice meters (I've the LCD version, U1252B).

I hope yours is an exception, as the OLED screens seem to die at around the 5 year mark based on what I've read, and Agilent has ceased supporting them (even though their site still states support through 2017 ).

Another owner is sending one back to Agilent (thread is over on EEVBlog), where the CS/tech has indicated they can convert it to LCD with a part/s swap (claiming ~$70 fix, as it's out of warranty). So there may be some good news here for those with dead or dying OLEDs.

Get the XC batteries for that impact. I was using mine all day at work and the bigger batteries make a world of difference in power and run time. That 3/8" had no problem keeping up with all my coworkers' 18v impact drivers, and I'd only have to charge the batteries once a week.

In theory the bigger battery should have a lower internal resistance and deliver slightly higher voltage to the tool. However I doubt you'd notice the difference with 2 new batteries. But an older battery may have a significant voltage drop even when freshly charged.

I have an 18 volt Ridgid drill where the original 10 cell battery would still charge up fine on the charger, but the tool didn't have that arm twisting power that I remembered. A new battery brought back the power.

So you might both be right...

Well don't call them Agilent anymore lol. They split off into keysight although I'm not sure how long it will take before we see a change in product branding. I honestly love them as a test company, they listen and if your willing to be an active participant they will actively listen and are pretty quick to implement a positive change. Everyone who plays with the U1253b and the u1115a are pretty much instantly sold on it. I can link up to the meter with my phone on their app, but the handheld remote reader is pretty unbelievable in range and reaction time. I've hung my meter in an engine cowl and took readings durring an engine run and taxi test. Meter had to be secured well but held up to the temperatures that the o-300 (air cooled, opposed, 6 cyl, 300 cu in) engine could throw at it. Impressive meter and an impressive company when it comes to tools that are as fragile as dmm's truly are.

Been on a bit of a tool buying binge recently before I head off to school, picked up the 1/4" impact from a tech I work with for $40 and the air ratchet is a 1/4" ingersoll rand. It's already saved my *** more than once and I've only had it a week!
