ENCO has all kinds of drills. I am waiting to get my single flute carbide bit from Norseman.

Why single flute? Wouldn't that lead to flex, chatter and an uneven hole? A single cutting edge is OK on a side-loaded tool such as a router bit, where you aren't going to get even cutting. But wouldn't you prefer balanced cutting from two or more flutes?

Single-flute drills aka "die drills" are designed for drilling hard materials. They're stronger than standard twist drills. They have a much larger cross section, which makes them more rigid and stronger.

Yes indeed. Drilling heat treated steel is a tough job and the single flute carbide is up for the job.
