Gotcha....thats what I figured. My box looked like it had been opened and taped up again and I thought there might be some stuff missing since there were instructions, etc. Sounds like thats the way they come.
I use Firefox and the price came up 23.99. I went down there a couple days later to do some other shopping and see if there were any left. I saw one, but couldn't remember the item number and there were no prices posted, so I called my wife at home and had her look it up on the net. I gave her the item number and she said it was $79. Bummed I went home thinking I missed the deal. When I got home I pulled it up on Firefox again and it said $23. She always uses Internext explorer, so I pulled it up on that browser and it came up $79. I went back down and bought it for $23.

It depends on whether you do the store search before or after doing the product search. Do it in the wrong order and you get the wrong price.
Plug in the item number and you get the $79. Plug in the store 1060's zip code on that same page and then the price changes to $23.
If you do a search for store 1060 then plug in the item number, you get the $79 price, as it has reverted to the system wide price. On that page do as above, and plug in the store 1060 zip code (28273) and the price changes.

well, i went into lowe's this afternoon.... they had one on the shelf, but the manager said no way... i came home and called their 800# to find out about their price match policy.. leslie told me they DO NOT match their own prices but would gladly match a competitors price... think i'm going back again and try the "100% customer satisfaction" route, and see if i can score that away, wish me luck......

That Lowes policy doesn't surprise me at all. Several years ago Lowe's policy was to have different prices for different district stores even though some of the stores were only 20 to 30 miles apart. The sales flyers (which were sent out in news papers) looked the same but the prices were significantly different depending on district. The districts with stores in larger markets were much cheaper than the districts with more rural stores. Once I figured out what was going on, it forced me to purchase a Sunday paper from the "big city" just to see what their prices were. The experience left me with a cynical opinion of Lowes that I haven't fully gotten over.

I went to the Lowes homepage, typed in the #1060 store and there it was, $23.99. I printed it out and handed it to my wife. She was heading out and about. She stopped by our local Lowes, picked up the last one and took it to the register. It rang up at the $79.99 price and my wife handed her the printout. The cashier even went so far as to call the 1060 store to verify the price. End result, a brand new hose reel for $25.00, tax included. Thanks for the great tip!

I typed in the NC store # , and ordered 2 of the hose reels to be shipped to my door. I almost bought 2 of them at my local store this past weekend for $79 each....glad I waited and searched these forums fist...yall saved me over $100 !!!!

I bought four reels about two weeks back and I was easily able to get to the $23.00 price. I tried in vain for a while today to help a bud out to no avail, I think the deal is gone. Try as I might, I could not raise it today.

guess i should've jumped on this a couple of weeks ago when it first came out... oh well, i really don't need another hose reel anyway...
There's only one local store that had them listed for $23.99. Needless to say they were always out of stock as were the other local stores. Now they all list the $79 price and all have stock. So yeah, sounds like it's over. Having seen the product, I'd be comfortable paying full price however. It's a pretty nice product.
I scored two yesterday at my local Lowes. Had to talk to the manager & explained the deal to him (I had a printout from the SC store) & he gave me the price. I asked if I could get two & he said yes. They still had two more in stock. Thanks to the OP for the heads up!

they had 3 up on an overhead in the tool area.
the first guy said they would match it. the secong guy said they would match it if the manager approves.
they called the manager and he politely asked a few questions which I politely answered and then he said they he would do one at that price. of course I said thank you, Ill take it.
so, anyone else want to try for the other 2

The north store in Springfield, MO wouldn't honor the #1060 price, but they did offer to sell it to me for $50 - 30 bucks off the marked price. Needless to say I have a new hose reel in the garage!

Called my local Lowes prior to making the trip and they gave me the normal price, had two in stock. I asked if they match other Lowes store prices. He answers yes. I ask him if they would match store 1060's price. Fellow says sure, I'll have to call them to verify that price. Puts me on hold for a few, picks up and says come and get it for $23.99. I drive there to purchase one and the story changes to region specific sales. Dept. manager says no go, she stands there and tells me she told the fellow I talk to on the phone that they wouldn't match prices. What??? Somebody's bull$hittin here. Store manager backs up dept. mgr. I explain politely the sole purpose of my phone first was to avoid a wasted trip and any BS and that's when I should've been told about (which I think is BS) any region specific pricing. Oh well, just waiting to hear back from corporate.

Howdy Brian. I'm in Burbank. Thanks for the offer, much appreciated. I contacted corporate, they contacted the store (Store# 2304 79th & Cicero) Their store manager called me up this evening and told me to come down and pick one up for the $23.99 price. They initially told me they would match 1060s over the phone then changed their tune when I arrived at the store the first time? How did your tile floor turn out?

just got back from my local lowes,[ mt vernon ,ohio ], and got the reel for the 23.99 price no qusetions asked. just showed them the print out from store 1060, and walked out with the reel. they will get more of my money in the future. good job lowes!!!!!

picked up four yeaterday. ( Tulsa, Ok ) Had to go to three stores to find that many. showed the price from store 1060 and got them all for the 23.99 price without any problems.

For those who are trying to get this price and have found a local lowes (but not necessarily the one they are at) that has this price listed on their website, if you receive any resistance from the store, you might try reminding them of their current television add campaign touting them as "LowesT" with a little blurb at the bottom of the screen that says they will match any locally advertised price for the same product, PLUS 10% discount. I don't know if it'll help any (already have mine, no need to find out), but it's a little more leverage.

Went and got my hose reel today, would have bought two but there was only one left. i been looking for a hose reel for a reasonable price for awhile and i almost settled on one of those garden hose style ones you have to crank good thing i didnt. great deal, thanks to the person who started this thread.

FINALLY...... i finally scored a hose reel. this has been eating at me for 12 days now and was able to get one locally from the store that origanlly told me no way.... and to top it off i've got two more on hold at another store down the road a bit, to pick up tomorrow... i am now a happy camper.. lol

I don't know what the count is for hose reels bought by guys on this forum, but I'll just bet that Lowe's is wondering what caused the onslaught of demand. What really is amazing is that guy's are still able to get them at that price.
