HJE order - I wanted to order a bunch of pocket screwdrivers for stocking stuffers, but shipping was high for a $50 order. Solution? Find some stuff in the closeout section to get the order cost up and make shipping seem better, lol!

SK pocket scredrivers (qty 20)
16" craftsman 1/4" cabinet slotted screwdriver -W-
SK molded emblem
Air blow gun
Craftsman 4pc offset screwdrivers -V-
Facom 22x24 deep offset double box end wrench

I bought those offset screwdrivers with my SK day order, for a buck each they are well worth getting, considering the USA made factor.

Absolutely. I had always had some unknown bias against those offset screwdrivers, and had used a bit in a 1/4 socket + ratchet for low profile screwdriving, and a bit held by a visegrip for super-low-profile jobs. Then the other day (as I was clamping my ph2 bit into my visegrips), it finally dawned on me how even though a bent piece of metal screwdriver wasn't the sexiest, most technologically advanced option, it was a better solution than what I was using! Saw these on HJE, $4 for 4pc, made-in-USA, sold!

1/2 flex ratchet and jack cross beam

Should come in handy putting a transmission/cradle/torque tube back in a corvette this weekend

Went to Costco and saw this lamp and it looked pretty nice. It is nice to not burn yourself and it's super bright.

Pretty good day today. Opened up my package of astro pneumatic tools from the woot sale. Then got a test lead set from an ebay seller for 65 bucks shipped, same set sells for over 500 at grainger so I'm super happy with this purchase. Then I had to order some parts from advance and needed a filler to use a discount code so picked up a set of cal van heater hose quick disconnect tools. And I won an ebay auction for a snap on amp clamp probe for 20 bucks shipped, sells for 236 new.

It's ok I have not had a good look at the snap on one the mac man did me a good deal on it I have had it about a week and so far so good the batteries have a reasonable run time and charge fast I have some of the dewalt gear with the same battery so I'm not short of one it has power enough for the smaller stuff and if I need more I go for a impact gun

Well, not brand new, but NOS...to finish off my C-Man SAE set series VA combos, I finally have every wrench in the set. Overpaid for some, underpaid for others, but I'm happy. All USA-Made of course:

How do you like the Mac 3/8 ratchet. I have one also. And sometimes wish I would of bought the snap on instead. Just doesn't compare to it.

Are you happy with that kit other than the price?
Does the spec sheet say if the wires are shielded?

Went to Sears to pick the part of my order that came in. It was just those bit ratchets and the key chain screwdriver (needed to pad the order). Well it took them forever to find the keychain so I got a $5 coupon. Was about to leave with it when I saw they had the Craftsman (Knipex) Cobras on sale for $15...so grabbed it and went right back to the registers. After hearing everyone rave about them I had to give them a try. Knipex should probably be paying this place a commission for the increase in sales...:lol_hitti

The brown truck left me some goodies today. Left to Right: Red Kap work shirts. From my ne favorite tool dealer foxruntools.com I got: Streamlight Stylus PRO USB rechargeable light, lisle spill free funnel lid, Lisle GM Door latch release tool, Chicago Pneumatic CP 7731 stubby 3/8 drive impact wrench. From CPO: M12 90 degree 3/8 drill, M12 Fuel Hackzall. M12 Batteries, charger, and contractor bag (all were free from CPO for buying the two bare M12 tools). I'm happy. I ordered everything last Sunday. :rocker:
Makes still waiting for my SK back orders somewhat tolerable.

I'm really happy with it. I honestly don't know if the wires are shielded. I can see if the instructions say anything about that tomorrow. Not sure if it will say or not. Where would that really matter? Are all automotive wires shielded?

In the event that you're using a scope to get a low-voltage reading from a sensor somewhere in the engine bay, I'd think that you'd want to have shielded leads. Just curious if they are. Even if they weren't, it's a good deal.

Bogdan,

At the risk of being rude - did you pay for the flashlight, or was it a freebie, say, with a different order?

Again, not trying to be rude, (more like informative to others here) but there are many other flashlight options that I'd consider vastly superior to that light.

(I'm kind of a flashlight enthusiast)

I did pay for it, but not from a dealer. Someone was selling it on a local website similar to craigslist.
I know it's not a very good flashlight, but I bought it as a novelty. Snap on stuff is quite rare here and I like the brand.

Got some new toys to go with my new drill press:

Precision Twist Drill HSS fractional screw machine length (stubby) drill bits. I've never had true "high quality" bits before, just the stuff from HD, Lowes, etc - just holding them in my hand, the PTD bits just ooze quality in every way. Very nice, and I haven't even drilled a hole with them yet.

Chuck key and leash.

Chuck wedges to remove drill press chuck.

All from Enco, $92 after sales price, coupon, and shipping.

Ah, didn't notice your location at all. Very cool then, that's a great reason to buy - who cares if it's not the best light ever: if it is special in some other way and you want it, buy it! Congrats!

Picked this up yesterday with a $50 off coupon from HF. The few reviews I found seemed all positive and I have an older model from them that has worked great for years so hopefully this upgrade will perform well for a long time to come.

A tiny private (i.e. not in the Ace supply chain, etc.) hardware store.

I am simply stunned by some of the brand new old stock that is in there.

No power tools, Vise-Grips, vises, or C-clamps though.

Pliers and screwdrivers by the box full though. Plus some other goodies.

If anyone is as OCD as me then you don't like your handles facing the way of the tool end. Usually snap on does a good job at lining them up but from time to time they don't. Just noticed my recent purchase of a long clip tool was off a good bit
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1416074440.067943.jpg
So I fired up the stove and pot of water and soaked her
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1416074463.121507.jpg
Pulled it out and popped it in my vise and she came right off
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1416074484.644623.jpg
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1416074492.019806.jpg
Put the handle itself back in the water
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1416074506.552588.jpg
Popped it on with a soft face dead blow and she's good as gold

Too cool to just have one buried in my box.
Needed something $20.00+ to get free shipping so I ordered another.

Got it on a price dip into the 20s.

Thermometer was from Amazon.

Hi Snap_Cap,

I love that old Lufkin tape and the Ryan screwdriver! Would you be willing to pick up a couple of items for me and ship them? I would very much appreciate it. Thank you.

Yesterday's purchases.

The Bonney clutch driver was the only one I could find, it has some foxing surface rust. He gave me the hex shaft Channellock 11/16ND in place of the missing 7/16" from the other set. No more of those there. The round shaft set was also the only one he had.

Thank you.

I had been watching CL for sheetmetal brakes for a while. I wanted a box/pan brake but I saw the thread about TSC clearancing these out. I'm not fond of the made in china part but for $120, I figured I couldn't go wrong. If I don't like it, I can pawn it off at the next swap meet.

I had considered making some long T-handled allen wrenches this winter and saw the Sears thread on these for $20. I figured I'd give them a whirl, maybe fab up some hex wrench extensions too.

Be side the T-handle you'll spot the Stanley tape measure. I grabbed that at Menard's when I spotted it. While it's 10' on one side, it measures diameter on the other side. I've missed my old Pi tape since it broke a few years back. This is the first replacement that I've had hands on.

The other new tool is a hand seamer. A friend that I'm siding his house bought these for me. They are Midwest and have replaceable blades so you can put different sizes on them.

I also notice that I need to snap a better pic of that brake. . . . darn camera.

Was able to replace my two Williams ratchets that a so far some unfound and unpunished piece of trash walked out of my garage with. Sorry that they are stock photos but once again I busted the phone and this time I upgraded to a $9 phone that does nothing but voice and text.

The 1/4 flex was $22 out the door and is actually $5 less than what sears wants for the RP Craftsman model, the other Williams just standard 3/8. Also got myself a damn near mint Snap-On SF720 for $12 out of the random tool bin. I only need it for one specific bolt, but for $12 you cant go wrong and it will add to the look at all the **** I have list.

went on a shopping "spree" this weekend (by my standards anyway)

dropped off a load of scrap and had a $75 gift card.

been working on my new service truck the past couple days, picked up the magetic mount glove holder and paper towel holder from HF.

the towel holder got modified to hold spools of wire.

grabbed a long flexhead 1/2"dr ratchet from lowes. didnt want to drop the cash on a SO that i only use a couple times a year for a specific job.

stopped by the pawn shop this morning and picked up this vintage snapon vacuum tester for $30.
it looks unused
