Just got back from COSTCO, bought some cashews. They have what appears to be a beautiful GIANT TOOLBOX in their Kirkland brand for something like $600 that looks great. Actually, it looked better that the $7000 Snap-On boxes I saw at the Goodguys show over the weekend at Westworld. No kidding this thing looked killer. Black and Silver.

You don't say?.......Better than the $7,000 Snap on box, eh?
That is some misinformation. I saw that costco box last month. Felt it, rubbed it, smelled it, fondled it. The Kirkland box is a large type pile of garbage.

Right. Just as harbor freight people are happy with what THEY got...."for the price".

I am not sure of the point of your statement/question.

The box does what they ask of it, it holds their tools and allows them to roll it from bay to bay over an uneven floor.

It is not playing in the same league as a truck brand box by any stretch of the imagination, but at 20% of the price it fills roll it plays.

Ideally, the Snapon, Matco, US General, Cornwell, Craftsman, etc. owners would ALL be happy with what they got "for the price", no?

For you, I'll say this once and I'll leave it alone.....

"For the price". Tired of hearing it. It is always a justification or rationalization people use when they cheap out and buy ****.

Come on, now.........LIVE a little. TREAT YOURSELF. Don't beat yourself. Life is too short to be aggravated by buying inferior stuff that you pretend to be "OK" with because the price was cheap.

Summary: When I was a boy, I saw a snap on t shirt. It said, "Snap on....cry a little now or a lot later".

I remember it today.

And for you Canada guy......I'll tell ya.....if I ever had to break it down and roll my car into a shop for repairs.....and I looked in and saw kirkland toolboxes being used by "professionals" who do this for a living.........?...............I'd take my car right on outta there.

That doesn't make any sense. So basically, you will be crying either now, or later, after buying Snap-On?

Stop poking Herod, he's already starting to twerk on this thread.

He obviously bought a Snapon box years ago and got all his crying out of the way. The tee shirt did not say, however, that he might twerk whenever Snapon was mentioned in the future. I wonder if there are any other unexpected things that happen when you get a SO box.:D

Exactly. I never take reviews of stuff on online stores. It's all just people justifying how crappy the product is with the price, and convincing themselves it was worth it.

Another one.......from Canada......awesome. That's how you guys do it up there....rolling three Costco toolboxes around "professionally". With "techs".

As does this...

If that mechanic had a bunch of Craftsman in his box, he would be a **** mechanic (because you hate Craftsman), if the next guy has Gearwrench in his box (like you do), he is a mediocre mechanic, and the guy beside him with Snap On a real expert?

Snap On. $100 down, $100 a month, for 1000 yrs. ;) Buy what you like, but I've always thought the truck brand stuff is a sucker bet. It might be nicer, but not that much nicer, and just because someone has 30k worth of tools doesn't guarantee that they know what to do with them. Mike

i cry all the way to the bank..... my box does not make me money at all, do not need a high price box to make me look good, its all in the way i turn a wrench, not the brand or the box that matters....... and yes i turn a wrench and many other tools every day for the last 30 years

and as for snap on read my comments below ......:shocking:

I call ********, Herod.

It's not the tool box that makes a good tech.

I own a Snap On box, and I also own two of the HF 41's, and a SS box I got from Costco. I was a tech for high end European dealerships for a lot of years and I was (and still am) good at it.

It's not the box that says you have skills......it's your performance. I do understand about taking pride in your tools and equipment and keeping it clean, organized and having the right tools to do the job but none of that says you need a high end box to keep them in. I am every bit as proud of my HF boxes as any of the others, but they are a means to an end, not the end itself.

Insisting that a guy can't be a good tech unless he has a high end toolbox is similar to people saying you're not a man if you don't have a stick shift car - ridiculous!

It's pure snobbery, that's all.

This is tantamount to not allowing your surgeon to perform your surgery because of the brand of gloves he wears.

Someone hurt you (or your pocketbook) long ago sir, and you need to let it go.

Yeah, yeah.... Harbor freight and the cheap tools collectors.......it reminds me of the "riding a moped and a fat girl" joke.....

All good fun until your friends find out.
