Craftsman 20 PC Stubby Wrench set- has arrived

Hi,
I recently received a 20 PC Stubby Wrench set (SAE and Metric). Even has made in USA stamped on them. Came in under 80 with tax and Internet savings. Only complaint I have is the lack of an 11. They are not Snap-on but believe they will do. Also, I can tell you the response time from ordering to delivery was OUTSTANDING. IMO, Craftsman had a super good reputation in 70's -80's. I have compared some of my tools from then to those of now and there is a marked difference in quality. I would hate to see Sears go away. Yea I know they made mistakes with marketing and getting onboard with the Internet, but it was a symbol of good US products in it's day. Thanks. Leaky

good to hear you lucked out.

i bought there 250pc set all USA made and half the sockets had chrome chipping off. no chrome at all or deformed (to the point they where not useable) or stamping was off. it was a disappointment to say the least. ***** even CM usa stuff has come to this.

I am missing a few sizes of the Craftsman stubby sets I have and was going to buy them separately, but this set is cheaper. I'd have a bunch of duplicates though. I keep going back and forth. I'm not sure if I'm even going to bother for four or five wrenches. I am interested in seeing how these compare to the professional ones from back in the 90s. The older ones are really nice. Do you have any older Craftsman Professional ones to compare them to?

I recently bought the same USA made set and like it. The missing 11mm wrench is going to drive my inner OCD crazy.

I don't recall which set of Craftsman I had, but it was missing an 18. Of course when you go an buy one seperate you often want to just buy a new complete set because you are almost half way there. This newest addition to my tools was unblemished and contained no flaws. I had Emailed ahead to request info on product's origins. Regretfully, one has to do that with nearly everything. Some off shore things work but we know every time we pick it up that it is not what it should or could have been. I have a battery of Emails between me and OTC regarding a Ball Joint press. They use to make them in the USA and then went off-shore. Must have not been a lucrative adventure because they had an ad out advertising they were NOW made in USA. Matter of fact, they offered some free tool with it. The only tool that has not let me down is Snap-on. But I am too slow on the bidding and my income says I have no business as a hobbiest onboard a Snap-on truck. Leaky

I was looking at my set the other day and wondered why they included a 20mm? I'm not familiar with a use for a 20mm wrench......even after reading the thread about 20mm uses.
