I have two Dake 001 arbor presses, one of which was missing the round plate. I fabricated a new one out of a 1/2" steel plate strip that was 4" wide. The factory one was cast iron and had been broken and repaired. I believe part of the reason it broke was the 3 largest holes were next to each other making it very thin in between them. So instead of having holes in a 9/16, 3/4, 7/8, 15/16 and 1" pattern I went 9/16, 3/4, 7/8, 3/8, 1". I also made a square plate for when you don't want the "holey" plate for more surface area with some jobs. I tapped the plates for a 3/8" bolt which was cut off after it was tightened down. The blue on the plate for scribing the lines is just a Sharpie marker.

Claybar and waxed my wife '12 Equinox today. Had the heat in the garage set at 60 degrees for a nice comfortable working environment and helped the wax set up faster.

Started on a flag case for my fathers burial flag.

Rough walnut run through the jointer and planer and pieces cut to dimension.
Plan on giving it to my mom for Christmas.

Sitting down and relaxing on the couch this evening and my wife casually mentions "My car wouldn't start today. When it did and I tried backing out of the parking space it stalled. Could you do something about that?"

I'm like WTF? When where you planning on telling me about this? Got it started and into my garage. The idle air control valve was all cruded up with carbon and I'm assuming the problem. Got it all cleaned up, but can't test until tomorrow when I pick up a new gasket.

Proceeded to clean out my 2011 Ranger's cab, remove the rear subwoofer, and take off the toolbox so it can go to the bodyshop. Apparently, the lady at Academy thought the side of my truck was a parking place as she plowed into it. While no one was hurt, I'm not looking forward to having to deal with her insurance company. From what the dealership guy said, they aren't exactly known for having things fixed up to my standards. I might just file it on mine and let them fight it out.

Replaced the vent control solenoid and fixed a broken wire in the drivers door harness of my 04 Impala. Oh, and boosted my wife's van after she left the interior lights on overnight

Yesterday afternoon I had a quick machining job to do for a friend and then when my wife and son got home from work we sat down, ate dinner and watched America, Imagine the World Without Her. Great movie, highly recommended.

Finished up the shelving unit for the kitchen pantry this evening. Nothing fancy but just trying to tidy it up a bit and something I should have done several years ago.

I made a few cutting boards for Christmas presents. The center is walnut and maple and it's framed in with Mahogany. I've made a few of these before, pretty simple and the size is about perfect for my use. It finishes out to roughly 8"x14".

Here's one of the simple ones after a few coats of mineral oil:

Decided to get the phase converter off the back of the mill. Made this little cart from extruded aluminum tubing. It's low enough to park under the bench when not in use, which is most of the time.

Beautiful work wyo george! I love the contrast. It'd be a shame to use it ... but it would be an honor to have one in my kitchen.

Thanks! I appreciate the compliment. I have one I've been using quite a while now and as long as you use it as a cutting board and not a chopping block then they won't get damaged much in use.

I'm sure it's possible for you to end up with one of these nice boards...

Moved the two race cars into the new shop!

I started building a new shop in early August. Finally got the last of the garage doors installed last week and moved the two race cars in on Saturday.

I've had the #90 Heilig-Meyers Ford (background) since 2005 and have been road racing since. I had it at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in June for a vintage event running on both the 2.5 mile oval and the road course. It has won two championships in Midwestern Council of Sports Car Club competition.

I bought the #5 Schneider National (foreground) in May of this year from the Ashwaubenon (WI) police department which received it in about 2001 from Schneider National (and world's largest trucking company) and used the car in its D.A.R.E program. I plan on turning it into a road racer too.

This is very possibly the first and only time that a **** Trickle Cup car and BGN car have been in the same garage at the same time.

I was alerted to the #5 car being for sale by a GJF member. Without his help I would not have known it was available.

Very nice...

I was in a "General Store" aka large rural Ace Hardware near Crown Point, IN and they had "Ready Tube" "Quick Frame" in stock. One of the best Ace HW I've been in.. "Ray's American Country Store" I wish the stores around me carried that sort of ready use stock.

My rotary phase convertor is on wheels too, for just the same reason you put yours on that cart.

I didn't know Trickle had passed away until seeing your post and I did a quick search. It turned up this article, which I think is a great read about Trickle.

I finished and installed my vintage Honda motorcycle logo. Hand cut out of plywood with a jigsaw, then trimmed in 2" strips of steel, back lit with LED.

Finished my small cabinet/bench rebuild. This was a hand me down craftsman that had seen better days. I cut the rusted, flimsy sheet metal legs off and built the 1" square tubing frame. Replaced the particle board top with 1/2 steel and repainted it. Im happy with it so far.

Once I rebuild the jack/pump, it'll be ready for reassembly.

You have a good eye for detail. The picture was taken by the blue flagger working in the hole in the fence between oval turns 1 and 2. I don't like gravel traps. I don't like putting Carson's people in harm's way! Road America is much too fast for that kind of stuff.
