I have two Dake 001 arbor presses, one of which was missing the round plate. I fabricated a new one out of a 1/2" steel plate strip that was 4" wide. The factory one was cast iron and had been broken and repaired. I believe part of the reason it broke was the 3 largest holes were next to each other making it very thin in between them. So instead of having holes in a 9/16, 3/4, 7/8, 15/16 and 1" pattern I went 9/16, 3/4, 7/8, 3/8, 1". I also made a square plate for when you don't want the "holey" plate for more surface area with some jobs. I tapped the plates for a 3/8" bolt which was cut off after it was tightened down. The blue on the plate for scribing the lines is just a Sharpie marker.
