Hula hoop woman!!!

I like a bunch of online machinst, but I literally fall asleep halfway through the videos anymore.
Does this happen to anyone else here?

chris

Thank you for the Hula Hoop. Lord she is magnificent. Reminds me of the Budweiser Clydesdale with the Boots. Awesome.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Wranglerstar is good as well.

SNIP

I've been watching all of Wranglerstar's stuff. I really like the guy. I've learned a lot. I like that he's humble and points out his mistakes and successes, even when they are accidental. And he's a man of God which I enjoy as well.

And arduinoversusevil is super funny and smart. Learned cool stuff from him too.

In addition to all listed here check out:
Hiram Gutierrez - He got some full teardown and rebuild videos of automatic transmissions, very high quality videos
Robinson's Auto - some good engine replacement video series. He is a former professional auto tech, interesting to see repairs thru the eyes of a pro
Jay Leno's Garage -

There is much good info on Youtube, but unfortunately many people who have knowledge but aren't good with presentation or editing. Also some without that much knowledge but that seems to like to talk...

Some that are worth watching though:

Already mentioned: Eric the Car Guy, Aaroncake, Diyautoschool, Motor trend channel, Real Tool Reviews.

Bad Obsession Motorsport:
Great build log with incredible fabrication.

Tom's turbo garage:
Entertaining car build logs.

arduinoversusevil:
Humorous with tool and fabrication content.

Mighty Car Mods:
More entertainment than info, but the Gramps build was nice to see.

Chucke2009:
I'm sure some of the experienced welders here find it too simple, but it has learned me some.

Matthias Wandell:
Incredible woodworking.

Five people mentioning Scotty Kilmer is five more than that guy deserves.

Hack repairs. Check.
Snake oil repairs. Check.
Hides his mistakes with editing. Check.
Argues with and insults his viewers. Check.
Annoying screech in your face presentation. Check.

Eric the Car guy is fine for the bare basics and just a hair beyond but he really shows his limited knowledge when it comes to electrical (if it isn't a known issue with Honda). He also rarely works on anything that isn't his families vehicles. The good is he presents himself well and doesn't hide faults. I liked his channel a lot more when he worked on a variety/whatever came in the door. Happy he found success but I feel he's gotten lazy especially when his single video a week is some 10 minute coolant or brake related video hes done ten times over or when he makes a single job his content upload for an entire month (breaking what should be a single video into 3-4 parts basically). I do like his tool review vids that he's added into the mix.

ScannerDanner is excellent, his case studies both contain knowledge and I also find them very entertaining. His premium channel is an enormous wealth of knowledge but its also extremely dry material since its classroom environment stuff. I'd say 85% of the time you're watching a white board. For entertainment value with a side of learning stick with his free channel.

Just to throw another name out there that hasn't been mentioned, spelunkerd is okay. I believe he's just a Canadian do-it-yourselfer but has some pretty decent repair videos along the lines of old ETCG.

Tubal Cain (mrpete222) for machining

I've grown just plain fond of him. He's GREAT. No homo, but he has worked so hard to share his vast knowledge and experience I can't help but to smile throughout his many videos. I strongly recommend watching as many of his as you can. :rocker:

Art Rafael, a member of Tool Talk has a You Tube channel showing his miniatures he makes. Everything from hammers to miniature engines. He is a retired shop teacher out in Colorado.
He made two for me.

My vote goes to Eric the car guy...:thumbup::rocker:

Eric the car guy, and anyone who has been in a gym atmosphere/******** gym for years or bounced around to a few gyms. The delray misfits is a great channel. Because every gym has their groups. LOL

Four hours later and I'm half thru it....thanks

You've only just begun.......there is book two also. Just finished it off last night. Needless to say, I haven't accomplished much else over the last few days. Good timing though, cold as hell here anyway.

My favorites are mrpete222, weldingtipsandtrucks, abom, doubleboost, and probably my favorite is SVSeeker, he's building a giant boat out of plate in his front yard. A fking huge *** boat.

Eric and Chuckee for when I want to learn something. Misty Prepper and Survival HT for that old school gardening and farm nostalgia. Ironhead41 used to be worth watching, but haven't seen anything worth while from him in a long time. Billstmaxx gets a lot of views from me. I use his hour long vids to test repaired phones in the lab. Pull up one of his Farm Sim Saturdays (3hrs) for a long burn in. Does a lot of different stuff. Small motor repairs, welding, sometimes just long drives .... about 50% of it is interesting to me personally .. but I suppose the rest hits a broader cross section.

they have their moments. I can stand them but I do wish they would do the real obvious improvements you can tell from watching any 5 videos.

Another vote for SV Seeker. Machining, welding, cutting, metal casting, engine rebuilding and much more all rolled into a 65' boat build in his front yard.

I'm mainly into machining

Abom79- love his channel, we've traded some tools back and forth, he likes the big boy machines and parts

Keith Rucker-same have done some horse trading/gifting to support him, he likes restoring old tools and machines. He is heavily involved in the owwm.org woodworking and his site vintagemachinery.org that many here use to ID old machines. Super humble and enjoyable to watch.

oxToolCo-tom has a great channel, he's a brilliant machinist, I learn a lot of precision measuring and figuring from him. Machine setup and fixturring he's great.

Keith Fenner- he started my YouTube obsession back when he first started, met him this summer when I stopped by his shop. Cool dude.

James Kilroy-great guy one of my new must sees, good humor has nice tools, just got a 3d printer so he's adding that into the machine work

Doubleboost- john from England, fun to listen to, he just gets anything and everything done in his shop. Real nice guy

Tubalcain-one of the originals. I don't follow him as much as the others but I did at one point.

Others I've recently been following:

Halligan142-general machining
Compedgex-powersports type machining
Shadon HKW-surface grinding
Bcbloc02-big machining rebuilding a barn too, I like his style he just started to get some views, i was referred to him from James Kilroy.
Randy Richard in the shop-general machining
Walter sorrells-knife making
Jimmy diresta-fun fast speed channel on making stuff
Weldingtipsandtricks as mentioned already good welding stuff, bought his tig finger to support his channel
Switch and lever
Arduinovsevil

That rounds out about 95% of my YouTube followings
