Great job so far, great photos.
I'll bet you cannot wait for it to be finished!

And with that foundation, I can pretty well guess where you are located. It seems like all of the foundations in that area are done with the brick texture. My buddies basement is done that way, but the have the brick look both outside and inside the basement. It really beats the look of smooth concrete or block walls.
This project is looking great, but I'd like to disagree with Kevin54 on the concrete form issue. I prefer the smooth concrete forms, and I especially dislike the faux brick work when you're inside a basement where you are close enough to see the detail. In my opinion smooth forms give a modern look without pretending to be something they're not.
Great looking garage, man are you making me jealous. I like everything about it, except I'd want the upstairs too!

Sort of off topic. Are these Amish folks building this? I lived in OH for quite a while and in Amish country, but I have never seen them wield a nail gun etc.
Things might have changed over the years, but I would be shocked to see them using such a tool. The Amish folks my dad knew were straight arrows when it came to following the doctrines.
Now, maybe we are talking about Mennonite? That would make more sense to me.
Just curious. Great looking place!

My shop was built by the members of the "mennonite" community in and around the Elmira/St. Jocobs area of S.W. Ontario. There are several different groups in this area all the way from "Old order" who are much more like the Amish through to "Modern Mennonites" who are virtually indistiguishable from the rest of the population with their use of technology, etc.

Congratulations! After 18 years of working out in the open, you deserve this great space to work in. That cupola is the 'crowning touch' (pun intended); hope you added a healthy ground strap to the lightning rod. I couldn't tell from the picture, but are you going to be able to install an exhaust fan inside the cupola housing? That would make it both functional and aesthetically pleasing. I just found this thread.
A very nice place.
The only thing I would say is that with that slope I might have though about a basement or at the least a pit.
It would have cut down on the fill and there would not have much of a dirt moving job.
From the things I see on the back porch, the wife should like her "craft" area.
Congratulations
Yep. I like the white door.

Wow. Very nice. What kinda of siding is that?
I like the white door too.
