I loved those over-priced rebranded tools! With a 40% Snappy and 50% Mac discount, I got most of my favourite tools and best deals this way. I got great deals on Knipex (pliers), Grip-on (locking pliers), Kastar(ratcheting screwdrivers etc) , Irwin (extractors etc), Stride(Snap-ring pliers), ES (multimeters), Mayhew (punches etc), Ullman (mirrors/magnets) IR (2135ti

, impacts etc). In fact it was my preference for the (mostly) Eurpoean rebadged stuff that started my tool collecting tendencies.
Apprentice/student techs, take notice!!
If you do a lot of research and have the cash, you really should make the most of those discounts while you have them.
I look at buying premium tools like this:
You can use your own numbers, but for my reasoning, I think Snap-on (Insert alternate premium brand here) tools give a 20% performance increase over the cheaper option for a 100% increase in cost. Now obviously, the math states that whenever we do not need the extra 20% performance, we should buy the lesser unit. However if you
need the extra 20% performance, whether to finish a job or finish a collection, you will have to buy the more expensive one.
Everyone's perceived price/performance numbers will change, but I think we can all agree on the law of diminishing returns

. Anyway, point is, throwing in a 50% discount changes those sums considerably. Enjoy it while you can.
