I've found that yes, HF does carry some quality brands. It seems that those items are typically priced accordingly, however.

The Goodyear hoses always get good reviews here.

I've purchased Gorilla Glue at HF as well....but the price was competitive, not a smoking bargain.

With coupons, you can get quality items for a good price. And HF has no shortage of coupons.

I have not been to my local HF store in awhile, but, they used to have real ViseGrip's there too.
Those were locked in a display case, you would have to ask to get one out. :shocking:

Years ago HF used to sell a lot of refurb. brand name tools, like Makita & Dewalt among others. Does anyone know why they stopped selling them?

I noticed a while back that they started carrying Gun Vault electronic gun safes. They sell them for about $100, which is what most retailers sell them for, but a 15% off coupon would come in handy here. Too bad I already bought mine before I saw that they sell them too.

Actually, the Pittsburgh Pro stuff used to be very nice. Over the last 5-7 years it has gone down hill though. I noticed that most of it is no longer ROC but Made in India instead.

Someone beat me to the Evaporust.

duke, if broncoman has a nice assatar, you have a nice atitar

Truly gravity-defying engineering, are they not? Is there some sort of unseen brace or support that's providing this magical suspension? What keeps the whole contraption from pitching forward on its face?

It's nature's work, too, not some kind of rogue Slovakian surgeon. More pics are available as proof!

Walp, from an engineering perspective, my concern is that the contraption is built so top & front heavy that her head must always be thrown back at an extreme angle to keep balance. I would imagine that in a moment's inattention, or while examining something on the floor, the whole unit could just topple forward, damaging those suspended protuberances at the front. I notice she is supporting herself with one foot forward on a ladder for additional stability.

That's just the engineer talkin'. But perhaps you have additional evidence that the unit is not so imbalanced as she appears in your avatar.

Yes, However observe that the unit is not made to stand upright but rather lay face up.

Oh! Well she ought to be pretty seaworthy then, I would imagine.

My understanding of sireens and like is limited, on account that I got to get the family farm back before I can worry about such.

The quality name brand tools I have seen at HF are usually reconditioned or if new they are priced at List.

I noticed a while back that they are selling Gun Vault (?) brand gun safes. You know, the ones that have a key pad you can open in the dark by feel. They sell them for about $100 just like everyone else, but with the 20% off coupon you could get them at HF cheaper.

I saw a Mityvac vacuum tester kit there the other day... again, X2 on their prices not being very competitve with other stores on third party products! I guess the deals are when things are on sale and their own house brand.

No disrespect intended. I had just gotten the impression he was ratchosexual. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
