I had my eye on these for a while and my wife has to drag me away in Costco. What I like about them is the slim flush mount since I am installing a four post lift in a 9'10" garage height. So every inch counts. I will be linking a few to my remote controlled lights that come with the Liftmaster 8500. What I've learned from Costco is if you like something, buy it on the spot because it may not be there the next time.

If they are out of stock, you can get a rain check. They take your info and will set them aside for you and call when they come in. You will get the sale price even if they don't come in till after the sale ends. Good deal.

So I originally bought 12 of these lights at the old price, and I had to buy them in MA because the NH Costco was out of stock. For the record, there is a sales tax in MA and none in NH. Now that they are on sale, the NH Costco re-stocked up. I went there and bought 14 of them this time (i really wanted 2 extras for above my work bench), put 2 in my truck, and walked right back in and returned 12 of them using my old receipt from the MA store. Worked perfectly! Bottom line is for an hour of my time, I was able to get 2 additional lights, and I walked away with 62 bucks in my pocket :) win-win. The guy at the store saw me walk out and walk in and knew exactly what I was doing too, he said people had been doing the same exact thing all week long.

ect wiring, you'd have to modify it.

the flush mount design was finicky to get the distance between the screws just right. one of my lights worked loose after little over a month and fell to the basement floor.

Yea, stupid design. I said F it, and ran the screws right through the metal shield and into the ceiling.

I went to a. Local Costco in SoCa, they have them for $32 +tax.

They had one on display at approx 7 to 8', the light output wasn't too bad BUT...

What are they like at 13', which is my ceiling height ?

Has anyone used these lights with a tall ceiling and how did they do ?

I was going to buy 24 of them but not sure how much light would hit the ground when mounted up at the 13' mark.
Anyone doing this please get back to me ASAP, as I would like to buy some if they work... Before the $8 rebate runs out.

Thanks,

We got a rain check as well but the manager said it's still first come first serve and we would have to call back to keep checking. She said she doesnt know why we were offered a rain check. Go figure.

I purchased six of these about a week ago. I wish I bought two more.

My question is, is it safe to daisy chain these together into one receptacle location? Or should I add additional receptacles?

They're not halogen floodlamps. They use an entire 38 watts apiece. 30 of them together would use as much juice as a hair dryer.

It sure would be nice if they had them in stock. Every store wishing 20 miles of me has ONE in stock. And all of those are the display models. I have to go 20.7 miles to find a store with 7, and I want at least 8.

21m isn't all that far but if they don't have enough in stock...Make those dipsticks order it in for you or buy it online. Not sure about Menard's but I have stuff shipped from Home Depot and they don't charge shipping.

The 21 miles is as the crow flies, 32 miles driving. And the only times I have time to drive there would be during rush hour...no thanks. Also it is in store only, and when I add 8 to my cart it changes it to 1 and says it includes store display. Makes me believe they are closing them out. Oh well, if they don't want my money I'll find someone else who does. Really wish Costco had them in stock around here.

Since all of our stores are OOS, Home Depot has the dual T8 shoplight for $19.99. I am thinking of just going with these and call it a day. I will buy 4 of them so it would be $44.00 cheaper than the LED. How long would it take to recoup the cost?

So did anyone on here forget to pull the plastic off the bulbs? I asked my dad if he did and he said " what plastic?"

Tried that but since we have been spending a lot of time in the garage restoring an 1983 Pininfarina 124 Spider, three of the cheap Home Depot fluorescent light pairs stopped! Save yourself the grief, electricity costs and maybe help the planet a little too.

I have read through this thread and I am still struggling on how to wire these up.

I have one over my workbench - so if I have to manually plug that one in, I am fine. But I bought four more yestereday at Costco - was thinking of adding two on the ceiling in each garage - I already have two fluorescent fixtures in each garage. The only outlet I have close by is one on the ceiling (its the same outlet that the garage door opener is plugged into), but it isnt switched. Can i somehow tie into the fluorescent lights?

I was also thinking of buying something like this on amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DQELHBS/?tag=atomicindus08-20
Plugging this into the outlet on the ceiling and then the LEDs into this - the remote would then become my wall switch.

Sorry I am a bit electrically challenged, but any thoughts would be great!

Thanks guys

I'm using these in my shop right now. They work excellent, but DO NOT use them with CFL bulbs. For some reason they turn on but won't turn off and then they no longer work. Took about 3 before I realized what was going on. Amazon replaced them but paperwork said nothing about not using them for CFL and still no idea why they broke. Using a different brand for the CFL bulbs but same type thing and it works great.

Finally had a chance with President'sw day off to install eight of them four in the garage and four in my basement workshop. One was defective, only half the LED's in one tube lit. COSTCO's return policy is the best. If it was Home Depot, they would haved plugged it in and taken it apart before giving me a refund. Flush mounting was a pain until I took a 1" wide flat strip of moulding to make a template. It would be nice if FEIT included a template strip of paper. The measurement was something like 44.08 inches. For the flushmounts in my garage I put an extra screw at the outside edge of the mount, just in case they wobbled loose and fall on my classic. A better design would be for two hole at each end of the light fixture so you can insert a screw to tighten down rather than the current slotted insertion. On the defective one I took it apart to see what was wrong and it was a defective strip that sits in the tube. I always like a clean installation and don't like that I have a four foot coil of cord sitting up next to the ceiling plug. One day I will go back in and cut the power cord and resolder the ends.

I bought 8 a couple weeks ago to see if it was enough light and decided to go back today for another 8 and no joy, no stock any more. I hope they at least restock at the 39.99 price soon.

has anybody seen these recently at costco?

Mine doesn't have any stock, but in the spot where they were displayed the display light is still mounted underneath the shelf, just turned off. That kind a tells me they may have more coming.
