I got this craftsman today. It's a 9 drawer with a 10/65 date stamp. It's still carried over the heritage logo series rounded corners.

SWEET! I love the Craftsman rollers that are all drawers. Congrats on the score. Are you going to repaint?
I plan to repaint as I did my others. I do a different red that matches my HF 44 closer. I'm in the mist of reorganizing my garage so once I move stuff around and find out what's going where I'll repaint. It's in good shape so I cleaned it up and lubed the slides and putting it to use already.

It also had a plug system on the side which I don't know if original

That plug setup is the original optional Power Panel. Unfortunately the middle where the wires are hanging out is missing the male plug part that you would plug your extension cord to.
That's really cool. Manage to find most of the plug contacts for the plug inside. I would like make it functional again. Would you know of picture I can use as a reference.[/QUOTE]
Look up a hand tools Craftsman catalog from the 1960's, I used the 1964 catalog it's on the very last page.

I have the box that would have sat on top of that one. Stamped 10/65 as well. I redid mine as well. Little bit of a brighter color of red. Rustoleum Cherry gloss. I have a place in my heart for those. I think are what a tool box should look like. Nice score!

One also usually but turns out to be a good thing is the 4 top drawers have the normal clips but 5 bottom have a roller drawer system

I like that but then drawer doesn't fully open. I can't complain to much. It rust free and covered in almost 55 years of grime but I'll fix her up nice
That's really cool.

Haha. I wish i could find a bottom. But my dad's 1958 snap on is holding it right now. Pics of mine are many pages back... Let them be sets across the country. Couldn't let it go for anything. Been in the fam way too long.

I agree. I use them daily! Just happy to still give them some life. I am working slowly on an SK box right now. Can wait to show the before and afters. It's for my oldest daughter. She has been workinf her rail off on getting the hinges and latches looking good. I will post it up in this thread when done. We FINALLY bought the right color of green paint. Working on get the wrinkle finish correct. But it is cold again in KS.

There is a 3 drawer cman like that on my local clist. It looks solid but rusty for 40 bucks. Also a powrkraft 10 drawer I went to pick up but its going to be a lot of work and the lady wanted 100 for it. I hated to pass on it
What you NEED is a middle and side box of different brand and vintage to complete the set.(not joking).
Here you go! Likely just a clean and lube before it goes to work in my garage.
Hey All, Picked this up at an estate sale for $40.
a huot i seen for 75 bucks
Nothing too crazy but a solid setup never the less.
I just finished giving this top chest a spit shine. Thank you drivesitfar!

Matco branded boxes I had once owned and traded back into over the weekend.
MB920 bottom roller
MB910 top box
MB903 mid box
MB505 side box
Sweet matching setup, justinmc. I have that same upper with a 6-drawer roller. I'd love to find that mid-box. Those are great boxes.

Is your set 27" or 33"? those are 33". I didn't know they made a 6 drawer bottom in 33".![]()

those boxes have some of the smoothest friction slides ive ever seen. ive played with a few here and there from my dads buddies that were old diesel mechanics and such. run across one in a pawn shop a few months ago and they had 1000 bucks on the top mid and bottom. it was nice, but not that nice.
AE: glad we figured out how to get that pair of boxes together. it looks a heckuva lot better than when i dropped it off to you. nice work and now i'm more jealous.
ALL: i finally found the key to the little lock to my cart with the Huot box inside it. i think this will be a good substitute until i find a combo like AE now has. or when i get time to restore my MBC boxes. i'll tear the label off the drawers and try to figure out a way to make some nice ones and start filling it up with my tools. anybody love their labeling on their toolboxes and care to share how they did them?
Didn't realize those were 33". Yes, mine are the narrower ones.

I don't really like labels on toolbox drawers. If I had to label the drawers, they would have to look like this:
