Same here, I only bought 1 and I'm still waiting. Guess we should have spent more money and then HD would have moved us to the top of the backorder list. BTW I called customer service inquiring on switching my order from shipped to store pickup since my local store has a stack of these on the shelf. Customer service said they couldn't do it. Apparently their online store is a separate entity from their B&M stores. They could cancel my order and let me reorder for instore pickup, LOL I told them no thanks, the price has went up now, I'll just wait.

They have the strangest policies. I got a lecture from my local store about why they couldn't match the prices on the CREE C6 LED's a few years back. Another HD store had them at $17 on sale, and the guy at our local store swore he'd lose money on them if he sold them to me a that price, said he had margin quotas to meet, blah blah blah. His line about losing money was BS, because if that was true, he should go buy his stock from that other HD store to help his margins...I ended up getting them elsewhere, so his loss...

My three arrived today. Installation was trivial - plug n play - and the fixtures were lightweight enough that I didn't have trouble installing them myself. The light seems pretty white at least during the day. I haven't looked at them at night yet. I did have trouble with one of them humming and vibrating a little, but I called customer service and they agreed to send a replacement out as soon as they get back into stock. She actually said she would look for one in some particular warehouse of theirs and possibly get it to me earlier.

Eta: they found me a replacement in their warehouse and they are shipping it tomorrow.

Here's my paltry three, doing quite a respectable job of lighting up my messy garage (in the middle of a cleanup). They're not in their final installation locations, but I'm just hanging them with 550 cord from the bare rafters since this is a rental and I don't want to permanently install them. They're replacing two 60W work lights.

Pics were taken at night, with the LEDs as the only light source. Not bad for $75.

By the way, the lights come with short (maybe 12-18") chains and hooks for connecting them to the lamp, but you're on your own as far as connecting the chains to anything on the top side.

With the LED technology coming more mainstream do you see the prices to drop to this level in the future?

Only for clearance stuff, OTOH the first cycle where you don't need to replace the tubes and they will be cheap at any price.

I just talked with HD...They're expecting them to be in stock in early February. NO CLUE why some folks got tons fo them already, and why my local store has 30+ in stock, but they can't get them for the online warehouse until early February.

HD makes ZERO sense sometimes.

Mine seemed to have been drop shipped from the manufacturer. I ordered four and it looked like it was a "case" of them.

Guess I should've ordered more than 2! Interesting to see that location likely isn't an issue Honest Bob...I'm just over the state line in Flemington NJ.

You guys that first jumped on the band wagon and got that great price, congratulations!
I paid $40 for the feit electric ones at Costco and I do love the "sun like" brightness they provide.
I saw this thread and was thinking, for that price, I'd get a few more and dang, I should of waited for these less expensive ones...LOL!
Too bad the deal is gone after they updated the price at that site location.
I suppose we should all be resigned to the fact that in the future they'll be about $10 a fixture and being the first on the bandwagon, sometimes isn't the best deal.

I ordered two and got them last week. They came directly from a company named ETI Lighting or something like that.

You need to go back and get some of your money back. They are on sale at Costco now for $32

Grr...the replacement light arrived to take the place of my buzzy one. It appears to have already been opened and installed, and it won't turn on. Thanks, Home Depot.

I just got another e-mail from Home Depot that they are STILL backordered. It's complete horseshit because they've got like 40 of them in stock at my local store. Horrible supply chain management IMO.

I'm not cancelling the order because the price is pretty awesome, but having people get them a month ago and some still backordered is just dumb.

I'm in the same boat as you, I got my "reminder" backorder email today as well. I've already bought two from Costco I put up in my basement and they are great. I wanted this one with the pull chain to put in my storage shed so I wouldn't have to wire in a switch. I'm sure it will ship once Daylight Savings time comes around. Then I won't need a light in there till next winter. :lol_hitti

Yep, I just got my backorder reminder as well. I really don't care, I'm not in a hurry. I'd just prefer they don't cancel my order. Interestingly, they say they won't process payment until order is complete but I paid with a gift card and it's definitely been deducted from that card - - not that I care provided they refund the amount IF they cancel the order, which I don't want them to do.

This was something that used to annoy me about Harbor Freight - they'd say an item was on backorder and if you're ok with that, do nothing. So I'd do nothing and in a couple weeks they'd cancel my order.

The wife and I cleaned all the T12HO fixtures in the shop yesterday and it's WAY brighter!!

So,

You guys are waiting on the $25 priced lights?

Seems as though they are all $40 now...

Yeah...as far as I know, they're the same light, right? They've got plenty in stock at the local store, but not at the $25 price. I already tried to get them to switch my order to store pick-up.

They really might as well make HD Online a separate company. They basically run them that way. There is very little interaction between the online and the brick-and-mortar except for the fact that online has store prices and inventory, etc.

Came here to say "me too". HD online chat told me they wouldn't ship for another month, but local store had some in stock. They won't switch the order to a brick and mortar order, or honor those prices.

Crappy service if you ask me.

Why is it that when you get a defective item companies replace it with another one that was returned to them?

I had a brand new bad La Crosse weather station. Called support and they said they didn't have any and I would have to wait till someone returned one?? Sure enough when I got the replacement it was defective too. Now they are sending me a third one. All this shipping and BS has to cost them $

Still waiting...EVERY store I check in their system has dozens of these in stock.

I'm starting to feel like they're giving me the run-around here. Contacting customer service again today just to let them know that there are a lot of people who are getting pretty impatient.

For a national company to have such horrible logistics (not the fault of the product manufacturer either) is unacceptable in this day and age. It's been probably a decade since I've had an item backordered for this long due simply to the inability to get supply from where it is to where it is needeed internally.

I know there are many of us in this thread with orders open, yet they seem unwilling to just fulfill the orders from store stock.

UPDATE - So for all of you who STILL have these in back-order, it might be worth reaching out if you haven't already.

I contacted customer service again, and basically told them that it was ridiculous that it is taking this long, and that they need to find a way to get some stock from stores to fulfill online orders, and noted that I wasn't the only one having this issue. Service rep said that he looked at their stock system and noticed that the item is in-stock in stores everywhere, but that it is no longer available for online order. He said that the distributor is showing that there is stock available.

He's wondering if, by some bug in the system, that maybe the HD system stopped allowing online orders, which effectively meant they never re-ordered online stock, so those of us in back-order are just in pergatory. He forwarded a note to HD Corporate and the light distributor and said one of them would contact me by Wednesday. I'll relay what they say here as soon as I hear something. I told him that there were likely many other people in this same boat, so we'll see if maybe there's some strength in numbers.

Just got off Online chat with HD.com They say that the vendor's expected ship date is March 15th so maybe I'll have it before tax season ends. I ordered one light on January 15th. Needless to say I let them have it on the customer survey.

I love how everyone gives us a different answer. My guy said that it looked like the vendor could get them out in 3 days based on how long it would take them to fulfill store orders.

I just got an e-mail indicating mid-march. So much for corporate "contacting" me. Seemed like the same BS canned response everyone else got.

Here's my thing...I know my local store has been re-stocked in the last few weeks. They're far from unavailable. I really feel like HD is giving us the run-around here. Complete BS. Unfortunately the only action I have is to cancel my order, but I still can't find them for $25, so...

I know you say you can't find them for $25, but I'm typing this from my local store (Hyannis, MA #2612) and they have them for $25 each. Website and app both show $40,but in store is $25

$25 is probably available only to some MA customers with utility companies' subsidies. Pretty sure this price for online purschase to be shipped to other locations was a bug in their system.

Cant see any reason why not. I cut my cords and spliced in extra wire to lengthen them in order to reach a central switched socket in my ceiling. Could have just as easily cut the plugs off and hardwired them in.

Yep. This.

I tried to get the LED can lights about 4 years ago and noticed they were $17 at the MA stores. My local HD wouldn't price match them, and said that the $17 price was BELOW what they paid for them, so it's got to be a MA subsidy.
