Sorry not to have posted sooner than this. A lot has been going on, but not that much on the barn.
We, Lin and I, did make some headway on the small addition on the rear of the barn. This addition has taken a lot of time. It is only 4ft by 9ft, but it is almost like doing a complete other building.
We did get the metal roof on this before the end of the year, but had to close it in for the winter, using tarps. November got really cold here.
Last July I decided to purchase something to actually put in the barn. This thing is really fun. And I must confess, we did spend some of the good barn building, weather days, touring around Arkansas *******. Had to have it outside this day, to move some material out, so took this pic.
January (2015) had a week of nice warm days, so I decided to do away with the dumb looking tripod drain, that was supposed to be only temporary. That was couple years ago. It worked fine, but I was really sick of explaining it. Also had to get a tree service in with a seventy foot bucket truck, to trim the big oak next to the barn. It had grown way more than I thought it would in seven years. This last summer with leaves on the limbs, it would touch the roof when it rained.
Good to get these two jobs out of the way early. Now if the weather does change, and it will, we can get back to finishing up the outside.
I have been busy as well, in this down time setting this project down, in the form of a book. Have over 190 pages of text and pictures done so far. Trying to keep the book updated to the progress.
Thanks for checking in.
