Well, I bought 5 of these for my garage in our new build. It will be another month or so before I get them installed.
They come with a cord to be plugged into an outlet and have a pull switch on the side. Do you guys think it's possible to just cut off the plug cord and hardwire them? I would like to mount them directly to the ceiling, so I hope that's possible.
I guess when I do that and they fail, I will not be able to return these, huh?!

I think you are correct.Saw these the other week. Definitely interesting but wish they were similar to the 2 bulb 3700 lumen units they get in the US. and had the plug exit on the side so they could be direct mounted.
The other issue I see with modifying the fixture (removing the plug and hard-wiring) is with code compliance. These are rated to work as is with the plug, and unless specifically stated in the instructions, cannot be modified. If they are and an issue arises, your house insurance would likely be void since they don't meet code. You have to install them to exact manufacturer recommendations.
So, it sounds like I will be just keeping one for my workbench and plug it in there and return the other 4. Too bad as I really like tofse.
It's a new construction and electrical contractor is asking $50 for each new plug. Plus I'm not too crazy of having 4 plugs on the ceiling with black wires running to them. Why not use them and instead of hard wiring them just install receptacles for each one to plug into. You may have to install spacers (1 or 2 inch) to mount them instead of direct mounting to the ceiling.
A review I found on these:

The only other LED ceiling mount for the garage I can find is the Lithonia LED wraparound fixture, but they go for $139 each. I don't think I'll be buying 4 of those.![]()
