Not sure what part of the country this is in but I figured someone here would want this 3/ 4hp.

^ I googled it, looks like SoCal but I'm not positive.
I called him and asked if he would ship it.
He is checking on shipping costs.
Great, hopefully you can make a deal on it.
I guess I should have called. I messaged him this morning but no response.
Someone must have bought it, ad is deleted.
Yep, LA and....... GONE!
Wish me luck fellas.
I just received a PayPal request from Edward R. Payment sent.

Now Outlaw - none of the female drivers have ever complained of probing. You mean you guys don't know? He has a special section of road prepared, and the UPS trucks disappear, and then reappear, and the divers have a blank where that hour went... (they often later complain about "alien probes...) but there is always a heavy box missing...

Fantastic. ..Another block going into the Michigan (Bermuda) triangle. ....Update.
I have a tracking number and it has left the drop-off point in CA and is making it's way East. [emoji481]
Thanks HB for posting the link to it.

Picked up another 1/3 hp from a auction last night. Runs good. Paid $32. Was not listed in ad. Post more pics after clean up.

One of the grinders I sold ended up on a Russian auction site. Odd.

Nice one. That will respond well to some Simple Green or your juice of choice.Picked up another 1/3 hp from a auction last night. Runs good. Paid $32. Was not listed in ad. Post more pics after clean up.

Was that one on the Auctionzip.com auction? I saw one just like it online the other day. Good score!![]()

The stump goes international.
Was that a dual voltage model?
I recognize that stump! And nice grinder.I kinda think it's funny that Torqueman has cornered so much of the Block market that members are now searching behind the iron curtain to smuggle block grinders back into the country.![]()
SNIP
That's the last thing I remember, until we arrived home and realized all my Block grinders were missing!

Ok I will play.
Craigslist find a few weeks back.
1/2 HP Commercial Model 397.19440 with stand. Bought it from son who said he had it for 15 years who got it from his dad who allegedly had it for 25 years. That would mean 1975 or earlier.
Have not taken it off the stand to check for dates.
Smooth bearings, long coast down, all tool rests and shields present, good wheels, and light. Light switch handle actually says Leviton. Quench tray was missing but I bought one from Sears Parts Direct.
paid $75
This site costs me money.

When I was dragging this one home I thought for sure it was going to require a full repaint but once I got all the dirt cleaned up I realized it was a super clean gem. No plastic here.

That powder coated block sure looks nice. Would look even better if you threw a wire wheel on it for a couple minutes and shined up those fasteners.
Clipped: that paint is just one of several reasons why we like our block grinders. did you use Simple Green for clean up or do tell how you spiffed it up.
Balane: nice looking 1/2 HP commercial and any chance that one might be a keeper and you can spiff up one you've had in use for years to sell? BTW since you probably use your block grinders as much or more than any of us can you tell us if you've ever had any problems and had to replace any parts other than change wheels?
TM: Maybe you better hire this guy to guard your block stash or find it if it truly is missing now.
