I am still in. I think my number falls under the limit (invoice 42) and I prefer paypal, but if there is a change let me know. I really appreciate the efforts you put into this.

Thanks for the info...

Know it isn't your fault it turned wonky, I'll hang in as long as it goes thru Paypal (hoping the long shot happens and I get down the list far enough); to do the USPS thing involves about a day in itself - driving 80 miles to get the cash out of the bank, then another 80 to get to the post office to get the MO (the only bad part about the sticks is nothing is close or convenient save paypal and e-commerce).

So I'll keep my fingers crossed that I can migrate far enough to have this go thru. Otherwise, I'll have to chalk it up to "too good to be true"... I'll stick it out as long as it takes, but if I eventually don't make the cut, I'm afraid I'll (with a tear in my eye) have to do the refund thing... Sorry!

Appreciate your hard work, dude!

Sus

My invoice number is #97 if I read it right. All this s**t is confusing by it's also kind of cool. This makes me realize why people who do this kind of thing for a living (I mean buying goods made overseas and then marketing them for sale in our country) charge so much extra, what a headache!
Thanks AquaMoose for steering us through this mess!

Aquamoose, thanks for all that you've put into this, but I'm out. The USPS MO does not provide enough buyer protection for me to feel comfortable with. If you discover another way to pay, I would still be interested. Please keep the gifted funds for warranty and kids as a thank you for all your hard work. I will send you an email for refund of the cutter funds.

I was originally #148 on the list, but my PP invoice number is #201. I presume I will be issued a refund, and will have to send a USPS M/O to get in on the second wave?

In the future, I wonder if a better way to organize this would be to have people individually PayPal the seller. That way, everyone would be protected - right now the way it was set up, if the seller in China bailed, recourse is very difficult as it was a wire.

I'm sure there are logistics issues, like the seller having the same issue... but it seems easier for them to work out.

If you paypal the seller it is a single transaction of one machine, it would defeat the group purchase discount. The seller would have to do 250 x the paperwork he is doing now.

I feel sorry for the Aquatic Moose, the process has not really gone along with the plan. I get the impression that people are using paypal to guaranty that they get a perfect machine. I find it hard to believe that all machines will work and none will be damaged in shipping, I hope I am wrong. I would hate to see the moose get any more aggravation from trying to be a good guy.

What's with all the worry over buyer protection? It's a hunk of tin and wires from China. Basement quality at a basement price. Hell if it even works I'll call that a bonus. Hope nobody's holding Aquamoose responsible for the gamble we all took.

Actually, there is a bit more protection with a money order. If you send payment via the USPS and the seller does not deliver they have now committed mail fraud. The feds take that seriously and prosecute the offender. In a credit card transaction the credit card company usually just takes it in the chin and gives you your money back.

I'm invoice #150, and would like to stick with PayPal if the opportunity comes up...

Your number is coming up quite quickly for the first group so you might just be in. Stay tuned!

I have a high invoice number, if there is a spot open for PayPal When everything washes out I would love to get a cutter, if not then its no big deal. As much as I would like a cutter I cant afford to pay cash for a money order right, i put this on my credit card till I get some stuff sold. Thanks for all the hard work work Sean.

I've decided work with you guys. I've got a couple of thousand of my own that I'll put in to help carry things over and put you in the first group. Later when it's all over, I'll get the $ back from the unfrozen funds.

Aqamoose I am still in, invoice #55 (line #188) if you need me to send a money order so someone else can still use PayPal I am ok with doing that just let me know if that will help some one else in the group. Thanks AndyM

Andy, others WILL thank you! I'll get you refunded shortly.

Regretfully, yes. Unless you're in a pickle like the other two guys above, let me know via email.

Very true. Like I need the law to come down on me when I do business with law enforcement day in & day out! (My business is EVModules.com)

Meanwhile, the new color code
Orange to signify members opting to go straight to Money Orders.

Names are removed from the list from those who opted out and requested refunds.

Chuck, if you're in the second group, you'll be refunded and given the opportunity to continue with a MO payment.

Sean just got the PayPal notice for the refund , take a look at the private email to let me know what way you want me to proceed to get you encumbered funds so you can add some one who is sticking with the pay pal route. I was thinking of starting a plasma for dummy's thread once you announced a shipping schedule ( to help pass the time till the Sparks fly) I have been using my thermal dynamics unit for the last 12 years and have learned a thing or two over time and I am sure there are others who will be able to contribute.

I have Invoice #18 and am #185 on the list. I am in for two machines

That said, I am willing to take a refund then turn that into a USPS MO to help people that really want to stick with Paypal.

So if we get you a MO by a certain date, say thurday, would we now be part of the first shipment?
We could send the same amount billed.
And then be on the paypal refund list.

I originally tried to pay with Pay Pal (1st time ever) and the payment was rejected because I tried to use a credit card....I am still not sure of how Pay Pal works but Sean was very gracious even though I was embarrassed for causing the trouble and I sent a PO MO via snail mail.

Who could imagine that my Luddite existence would work out so well! To me this is has been an epic and fun adventure and we all owe Aquamoose for leading this through as he has.

I have noticed that we all seem to have an addiction problem...maybe we should start a 12 step group!

If I understand this correctly, half of the cutters will go into production as planned. The remainderwill not be built until that money is released to the manufacturer. All of the machines will be shipped to the US as a single shipment not two.

I opted to give up my spot and resend a cashiers check drawn at a "large" bank since I didn't have to pay anything, and I didn't want to go to the post office. I ok'd this with Sean first though.

The invoice that Sean resends will be less since it will not include the paypal fees.

BTW I spent almost an hour at post office, an hour of my life I won't get back, trying to get a stamp.

Here's a thought..........

If any GJ member has the funds, maybe they could make Sean a loan, or make a line of credit available, to help facilitate this buy.

Sean is doing this with some of his own money.

Who else can help?

Oh no, I'm good. I'm not going to accept any loan and will decline. The new process is working nicely so far. Thank you for the sentiment though. I'm amazed that many of you, far more than I thought, are willing to work with me on the MO route! It makes me more determined to make this a success, delivering everything down to the last consumable.

Just a heads up, at this point in time the group numbers have changed! Members with invoices 1-151 are now part of the first group!

I've got a worried sap 200 miles east of Newfoundland on the Terra Nova FPSO (1000 foot long oiling vessel) emailing me his fears of not being able to switch to a money order. He made the cut, thanks to the guys giving up spots!

Since I am invoice #183 it is very unlikely that enough people will drop out or opt to pay by PMO to get me in the first group. I was prepared to opt out, but I will await your further instructions. Thanks for the effort in any case.

Just worked until 3 am so not quite finished refunding invoices, additional consumable buys, and gifted transactions.

Invoices 186 and up are all refunded. When I get back from church tmw, I'll finish refunding the remainder of the second group and send out MO instructions. Sorry it took longer than usual.

hbabler & Lassen Forge - please see your PM's.

I saw mine. Thanks.
Is there a MO window we can hit if we get it to you in the next few days to be in the first group?
