Just throwing this out, looking for input.

I am getting ready to do my floor, need to grind it first.
The closest Home Depot is 40 miles away. (2 closest ones don't rent)
They charge $65 per day for the Diamabrush and $50 per day for the buffer.
It would be an 80 mile round trip (x2) to rent it, and I would be pressed (for time)to do it.
If I bought one, I could use it at my convenience.
(local rental center will rent a buffer for $20 per day, no charge for weekends)
It is an expensive single use tool, anyone interested in purchasing it afterwards?
I have no details at this minute, just throwing something out there.

IE. - If I paid $450.00, next guy pays $350.00, next guy $250.00 etc..
Obviously the current owner would set his price for the next person.

Personally, I would buy a used one for a single use, if I thought I could get some of my money back from the next person.

Thoughts, input?

I think the idea is good, but unless the members lived reasonably close to one another so they could go see it and take it home, I doubt it would be practical. I suppose it could be shipped to the next buyer, but it would be sight unseen and I suspect few people would be inclined to buy used equipment that way.

Be about the same as buying off ebay, or even the classifieds here.
But evidently, not alot of interest.

I've been thinking of picking up a used one in fact.... I do condos in Toronto from time to time, and I usually rent one as my bigger machines are impossible to bring up. They also run on 220v power, so bringing and running a generator is next to impossible.

Its also a handy machine to use to scuff up floors to re-top coat.

Where are you located?

I'm in northern Va.
Thinking about buying the "mastic" (Diamabrush)
Just bought a buffer off of Craigslist on Friday.

We have been talking about this via PM and I wanted to let others know the outcome so they can take advantage of it. We are not in the rental business and we don't want to be. But if you can't rent one at Home Depot we will send you one. You pay for it. We will send a return label. When we get it back we will give you a refund less $100 to cover shipping both directions and wear and tear on the blades. We will have a special sku for this and it will not apply to all of our inventory so you will want to use the 'borrowed' product not just order a new one and send it back. We also include the clutch plate and risers. This option will be open to all who are using our coating systems.

GREAT IDEA.

If you are interested in borrowing ours with the use of one of our systems let me know. I believe that is where this thread ended up. Since we are not a rental company we are not renting it out. If you are trying to set up a new group happy to help you get the product you need
