Entry door clearance under overhead door track?

I need to build a 12x12 shed. Started drawing out the plans but ran into an issue with the entry door. I'm going to build the shed as a "mini" pole barn with 4x6 posts. It will have an 8x7 overhead door on the front gable end and a 32" entry door on one of the front corners.

This logically means the in-swing entry door needs to clear under the garage door track. With an 84" tall overhead door and an 81.5" tall entry door, I don't think that will be an issue because of how the track curves up and ends up higher than the 7' height.

However, my design has the entry door close enough to the corner that I'm worried it might hit the curved/radius section of the overhead door track. Basically I have the corner 4x6 post with the 3.5" side facing the gable end but the 2 posts set inwards more (for the overhead door) have the 5.5" side facing the gable end. This helps to space the entry door away from the overhead door a little. I've also designed the rough opening 3" more on that side so I can use 2 2x6 boards to space the door over even farther. I was hoping to use a left hand door (opens into the overhead door).

I've attached some Sketchup views to show what I'm talking about:

1. The door opening: http://i.imgur.com/SBlYIvI.png
2. Inside view: http://i.imgur.com/7g6UjgU.png
3. More of a top view: http://i.imgur.com/BEzrMFC.png
4. A really top view: http://i.imgur.com/5RfpBgg.png

I'm not against centering the entry door between the corner post and middle post, but I'm just trying to avoid losing wall space since the 12x12 is already very small.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Have you thought about using a roll up door?

I did look at some 8x7 roll up doors online, but the cost plus shipping was pretty high. For a shed like this I was hoping to just use a cheap 8x7 door from Lowes or HomeDepot (around $250) with extension springs.

Dont know where you are but you can get that size rollup door around here for the same price. Check craigslist. They have ads for them in my area

Agree with a out swing door or you can order the door at one of the big box stores cut down up to 5" I believe. Up charge of 50 bucks the last time I checked

If it were me I would either go with an out swinging door, or no man door at all on a shed that size.

I did look for an outswing door but found they are special order and expensive. My main garage doesn't have a man door and it's a pain to keep opening the overhead, so I definitely want one even though the shed is small.

I'm thinking I should just get a 32" inswing door and if it doesn't clear, I can flip it around and switch the hinges to security type. I watched some shed videos online and many people seem to just be installing inswing doors backwards.

Raising the ceiling 6" introduces a whole slew of new costs...sheathing no longer 8' tall, more vinyl siding, more expensive overhead door. :(

Why not just put the man door close to the rear wall? If the shed is only 12x12, that would only be 2 extra steps in your travels.

I was going to build cabinets inside along the back wall, but having the man door close to the rear wall reduces how much of the wall I can use. I figured that closest to the overhead door and swinging in towards it wasted the least amount of space (other than an outswing door or no door at all of course).

You seem to be good with drawing, so just draw the door track in there. The vertical track is going to be around 76" tall then with a 12" radius into the horizontal section. The bottom of your horizontal track should be around 4" over your door height, and if you have room for 15" radius, you would gain another 3".

The bottom of my horizontal track on my 6'6" high door with 12" radius track is 84". With the door in the up position the clearance at 81 1/2" is about 12" from the inside edge of the wall studs. You should be okay with your plan. You could also special order a 6'6" walk-through swing door.

My 7' tall door is similar, at 12 inches from the inside of the studs I have 86 inches of clearance. Bottom of the track is about 88".

Home Depot used to stock outswing doors. (But that was my experience years ago.) Just reversing a standard door makes the threshold funnel water into the building. Plus, anyone can just drive out 3 hinge pins to remove the slab. Instant access! ;)

My shop door is in the same position. I did not realize the problem until the overhead doors were installed. It is the only thing I don't like about my building but my door swings out and it is not that big of an issue for me.
