Not mine nor any affiliation. Posted 3 days ago. Probably priced a little too high. I bought a similar one for $60 a few years ago but don't see them too often, at least in our area.

Vintage Craftsman Wall Mounted Tool Cabinet - Reduced - $150 (Gurnee/Wadsworth)

Craftsman Wall Mounted Tool Cabinet from the 60's. Has two spots of rust, otherwise in good shape. Comes with key for lock. Key comes out when locked but remains in lock when open.

I am 31, my dad just turned 62. He has had this tool box since before I was born. I told him i'd been interested in cleaning it up and he told me to take it. I searched but i can not find the date stamp. I am hoping, with a little bit of love, I can pass this on to my son in 30 years.

I was thinking MBC but 70's might be too late for them and color combo off. I remember seeing one like this one on this thread alittle while ago. It's a quality box so take a picture of the slides and the locking bar in back by hinge. That would help but There has to be stamping somewhere.
Looks like my waterloo, mines an 84

I saw side handles, pulls and think it has same locking bar in back as a 65 MBC I had. The color combo didn't match. Is the top or bottom the 1984? I didn't know Waterloo/ craftsman had handles like that in 80's.

Sweet box. My granddad just gave me the 9 drawer chest, same color scheme. Definitely well made boxes. Enjoy it.

I'd guess Waterloo also handles aside the construction features, top latch hook and top tray dividers appear to be the same as Craftsman/waterloo...

Let's start with the ever so useful, pictures of the drawer slides.

Do these help guys?

That is the same drawer locking system my MBC but others used similar too. Mine didn't have those slides so it's not a MBC for sure. Zkling is the slide expert so bet he has a good idea of what it is.

Thats right, i'm replying to my own post. I found the date, 7/69.

Box is in relatively good shape. I removed all the drawers and slides. Bottom of the box is a little rusted but nothing all the way through the metal. Going to soak the bottom in an e-bath and see what happens. When i can get everything down to metal, i will prime and paint.

Coming back from a job today I saw a couple of signs advertising garage and estate sales(must have been the 60 degree weather)so I stopped at one and found a lot of guy stuff including this vintage Kennedy machinists tool box. Far from perfect and missing the front cover,it had a few miscellaneous tools inside;including a vintage Gits slide blade knife which was worth the price I paid for the box($8). Got it home and cleaned it up a little and took out a couple dents. The ones one side are not accessible due to double panel construction so I'll just leave them.A front piece is easy to make;I've made a couple before. So here it is in all it's rusty glory;ready for some vintage tools.

NICE SCORE! I would consider that a tool box.I believe that the only difference is the liners of the trays.I have a couple of those and the liners are brown but don't have as many compartments. For $35 you stole it IMHO

i thought so too. came with a new ( old) roll of cork liner to put into it. neat that it has the original shipping box. was shipped to a department store in pittsburgh pa., but too much of the shipping label is gone to know which for sure. thinking it was kaufmann's.

thanks for the great feedback and comments guys, and thanks for the welcome to the journal. i went to this guy's junk storage to buy a coleman snow-lite marine and station wagon standing cooler with the original box and all the accessories from him ( $35 too) for resale. got a pretty penny for that one, it and all the acessories we in excellent condition, the original box was a bit beat up though, but had way cool graphics), and got a few other odds and ends from him. then he pulled this kennedy kit out and my jaw dropped. super groovy!

I was going through some of my portable toolboxes and their tool trays. I have one odd ball one. The most of mine are from carry boxes and one from a craftsman top chest. They all have almost same construction from my heritage hip top to the mid 85 top chest tray.
0b230ab45b3595c4d76cb18073454372.jpg
Here's the odd one. I got it with my 1970 craftsman bottom roller. I got it from neighbor few years back so no telling if it came with it or not.
Here it is

I wondering if it is a craftsman but it doesn't fit in any of my 1967 to 1972 chest I have. There's no marking so wondering what it came with and maybe a brand.

I might be picking this up this week with some tools in it.

Can anyone identify it? Looks like it's a craftsman King Seeley era?

Bagged, Pretty sure that is going to be Late 40's and very early in the oval emblem with the tags on the sides. So that would also coincide with early KS era, but KS made power tools, not boxes.

Thanks. The guy is only asking $50 and it's loaded with tools, and maybe had a beehive in there. Lol.

He says its in an enclosed car port. It's going to rain the next 2 days so he wants to wait for a dry day. Hopefully I get to pick it up Wednesday.

If I get it I will repaint it and it looks to be in very thought shape. It will match my small craftsman box perfectly.

Here is my small vintage craftsman box my Dad gave me. He got it from a tag sale.
Looks like it was made for a drill. Anyone know?

Appears to be loaded with junk..... & a few tools ;)

Might be worth getting a quote to have it stripped & powder coated. I had a somewhat larger MAC done & was quoted $200 for one color, $240 for two. In the end it cost me $80 for materials & 250 rounds of Remington Golden Sabers in .40 S&W (which I got for free)

I found another Craftsman tool box at the Flea Market. This one came with the original tray and a removable 3/8 drive socket tray. I gave it a good wash and wiped it down with Fluid Film.
