I generally run my trail Jeep tires between 2-4 psi. Every now and then on some of the trips there is a need to do some road driving. On the road I like to be at 12 psi. Not wanting to rely on other people for air I decided to buy this compressor after some research. I didn't want to haul around a CO2 tank or set up a compressor on the motor.
I have to say, I'm really impressed with the quality and performance. I did a little test. I drained one of my tires to zero. I hooked the compressor to an old battery I had laying around, it was only putting out 11.5 volts with the compressor running. I ran the compressor for exactly one minute. In that minute it brought the tire, which is a 38" from 0 to 11 psi. With the engine running I'm betting I will be able to air up a tire from 2 to 12 psi in less then a minute.
Obviously the fact that I'm running low pressures dramatically helps the compressor performance. But I never imagined airing up a 38" in less then a minute with a 12 volt electric compressor.
