Sanded more drywall. This is getting tedious. But I'm the idiot that got tired of looking at the brown insulation and having spiders and crud falling on her.

It's worth it in the long run.

I'm assuming you are ding new drywall? Work at laying the mud on real thin, and use multiple coats if need be. Less, sanding, and much faster drying times. Sanding is messy, but shouldn't take a ton of time.

Here are both the dune buggy and the Elky.
Today I changed the oil on the buggy and tried to drain the diff, but it was empty. I'm hoping the original owner had it rebuilt and beefed up the handle the power from the GSXR 750 engine vs the original 250.



Kinda a pain to back the El Camino out each time I work on it, but starting it never gets old. The next shop will have twice the room. More on that later.

Not going to the show, going to see my sick mom. Have fun, spin the tires for me!

What I thought was the half shaft making noise was the front hub. The half shaft I picked up yesterday got exchanged for a front hub assembly. That was the first hub that sounded like a baby rattle when you shook it that I have seen. That was my excitement inthe garage today.

I bought mirrors off of a '13 F-150 on eBay a couple weeks back to go on my '08. I swapped the reflectors on the outside for LEDs and wired them to the turn signals. These had the textured caps on them so I bought some painted ones off ebay. I sanded and sprayed them today to match my truck. If all goes well I hope I can get them back together tomorrow. Not sure if I'll have time to get them on the truck or not.

Not today, but last summer. I had some extra screen tight in the shop, framed up a couple 2 x 4s and pressure fit this in place. I live in the woods and in the evening with the doors up and lights on the place fills with bugs. I did this so I can work on my car and still enjoy the night air a bit. Got the idea from when my folks had a place in fla, a lot of the garages were screened in.

I ran 1" conduit across 1/2 of my ceiling, from the sub panel to a box at the lift, now I have to run a whip sown to the lift and continue the rest of the way across the ceiling with 3/4, then down the wall, and out to the electric for the new shed....

I figure 3-4 hours tomorrow and I will be done, I already trenched buried and back filled the cables and a 3/4" rapidair air line...

Replaced the single GFI outlet in the garage. That was overdue by about a year, but given that the clown who wired my house wasn't really descriptive on the breaker box, I got zapped when I tried the first time.

Yes, it took me about a year to get around to purchasing a voltmeter and replacing the outlet, but I have a patient wife who tolerated all manner of chargers in the kitchen, laundry room and first floor bathroom.

I would like to add about six outlets near where I hang my bikes and work on them, but its above my skill at this point.

I started the day by putting on a final coat of poly on some drawers I built for a long time customer. Then I tore down both trailer axles for full rebuilds. As of now the SAE axle is back together, the metric axle is waiting on bearings to arrive.

yesterday, I cut, stained, and sealed another trim piece for the guest bath mirror frame. I had one piece that was bowed. Liquid nails wouldn't hold it to the mirror. I had tried steaming it as well as bending it the opposite way with wet rags on the worst spot for a couple of days & it would still pop off after a week or so.

Then I cleaned up & mopped.

Picked up some second hand landscape lights as well, so today I may see about getting those installed.

We're supposed to be having ~60-75 people over for a cook out today, but my mother in law from out of town had to go to the hospital. Not sure if we're grilling out or not now.

Not IN my garage, but next to my garage. Extended the 4' fence we installed when we got our dog as a puppy to a 6' fence as she can now hop the short fence with ease. Now when I'm farting around in the garage, I don't have to worry about her disappearing into the back yard, or worse.

My dog Charlie can hop a 7' fence. It's ridiculous... he likes to steal toys from the neighbor dogs. So long as he's got a good bone and ball, he stays put, but he can't stay outside by himself for extended periods.

Yep, exactly. I'm pretty sure if she really wanted to jump the new fence, she quite possibly could. The thing is, she hasn't ever tried, so she doesn't currently have the confidence to do it (and I'm hoping it stays that way). At the doggy daycare she goes to (yes, I just said that), she has been caught scaling the 7' chainlink fence they have. Where there's a will.....

I went out to my small country property and pulled the ZTR out of it's winter storage (under a cover, but still outside in the weather) the battery was dead as expected, and one tire was almost flat so I had to jump start it - found out the extra set of cables I keep out there has dried out and cracked but I managed to get it to start and drive onto the trailer so I could haul it home to the shop.

I pulled the battery and put it on the charger, cleaned the terminals and aired up the tire. Once the battery gets charged I can start it again and drive it off the trailer and into the shop. Then I need to sharpen the blades, change the oil and get some mowing done!

Today I went out to my garage and I selected a spot for a security camera and then I mounted it. That's the first step in what's sure to be a drawn out project. Eventually I will have cameras all over the house and it will all be internet accessible.

When I built my garage I pre-wired it for 3 cameras outside. One towards the house front door, one towards the house rear patio door and one towards the garage entrance door. I did have an extra camera so I connected it inside the garage. I'm looking at moving it outside to cover the front garage doors since that's one of the only spots not covered by a camera. Plus the garage has a monitored alarm 24/7, so a camera inside is almost pointless.
They are all being recorded 24/7 and accessible online from my phone.

Definitely worth having them connected online so you can check anytime.

The truck is looking great. Of course being from Texas I think you should go with some Texas Mesquite for the bed and rails! I can hook you up with some should you ever want to swap it out!
