Last night I had about an hour to kill between work and a viewing that my wife and I needed to attend so I started machining the adapter for my 3-jaw chuck to rotary table that I need to finish so I can machine some parts for a customer.

Its another fiberglass body thrown on a 70 Beetle Chassis. I got it for peanuts. I was going to chop the chassis and sell the body, but I cant bring myself to do it. Everything is so clean for being 45 years old.
Plus already has the 5x4.75 chevy disk brake conversion done to it.

That is going to be a sweet little ride. Be sure to keep us up to date on it.

Started soaking the carburetor intake boots for my brother's 78 gs550e. All four boots stacked nicely in the flower vase my wife left in the garage. Now it'll smell like wintergreen oil when I'm done.

That'll rub out... :D

Seriously, tho, that's gonna be one sweet ride when you're done. Esp with the long bed. Too bad it's not a 4wd, but it's got some good bones there. :rocker:

So yeah, where's the build thread??

Let us know when you create a build thread!!!!:beer:

I might not have the patience to have a complete build thread but if you look in my garage's thread in my signature I'll post some updates

all parts I keep are taken off and the rotten frame and jammed engine/transmission is going to the junkyard

Opened the swimming pool on Sunday afternoon, only to find that the pool pump seal is leaking.. Now that will be a future garage today project, as soon as I order the parts...

:(

Took pump motor and pump mechanism off the pump housing and replaced the ceramic seals, etc. Found a missing quad ring from the factory that I reinstalled. Working like a champ now and getting the water clearer by the moment... Drying up nicely...

Continued work on the new cabinet which included driving a 100 screws. I should be able to get the shelve cleats and shelves cut and installed tomorrow.

Glued the new transom together for the little boat, and next to the garage I started stripping the deck off of a trailer that is getting converted into a pontoon boat trailer.

Brother and I took the bed off his truck to change the fuel pump.

Not a bad little project.

Cleaned up a little. Then I changed the front brake pads and rotors on the 06 Explorer. Also changed one front sway bar link on the left side and replaced the missing one on the right side.

I generally use a Porto-Power to push them back into position when this happens. Sometimes a ratchet strap is enough but the majority of the time there is just too much pressure on the components so something a little "more" is needed to help persuade the axle back into place. If you don't have a Porto-Power, I have used a small bottle jack and length of 2x4 in a pinch.

Changed out the timing belt, tensioner and water pump on Grandson's '11 Kia Rio late yesterday/early this AM.
Since this is an interference engine a 60k km change-out interval is suggested, this one made it to 100k.

No sense tempting fate much beyond that.

Building a quilter display ladder for my daughter. I have not worked with Eastern Black walnut in a long time. I'm having a great time. Good to have 20 x 20 covered patio rather than filling the garage with dust.

Got the lights up in the single bay. Nice to finally have some light in there. Thought I'd try out some 6500K bulbs on this side.

Well, picked up some Canadian tire On Sales item for my Racetrack toolbox:

-Stanley matte black series 229 pieces for 119.99$ instead of 399.99$

-Mastercraft Maximum Breaker bar 14.49$ instead of 42.99$

-Mastercraft Maximum Pliers set 19.99$ instead of 39.99$.

-Mastercraft Cart with 1 drawer 79.99$ instead of 119.99$

Then stopped at my local tool store to pick up some rails so I can take the sockets out of the blowmold case and put em in the box. Also picked up a Neiko Pro stud extractor wich is the exact same as the Mehews.
