Small request. Instead of reading through all the post on the last few pages, can updates on status and delivery, etc be posted on the first page? Sure would simplify things.

Thanks

It's heading to a sea lane. There are charted courses in the ocean that make shipping optimal based on currents and what not. Boats almost never take a direct route. If you ever find yourself stranded on an island and you haven't seen a boat go by in a couple week stretch, you never will.

Transit lanes are not posted except around vessel traffic separation schemes. They are on a direct route. Its called a great circle route. Because the world is round, it is not a straight line when plotted on a flat chart. Transit lanes are the great circle routes between major ports.

It is also not uncommon to see ships off major route alone and unafraid. It is a suprisingly small ocean.

The daily operating cost of a ship is incredible. They go from point A to B as directly as possible at the optimum speed.

First step, get a good air filter/dryer for your compressor. The HF stuff isn't gonna cut it. Motorguard makes a good unit.

docked.jpgWow- it's actually here (almost).

If I read Auqamooses earlier post correctly, 'our' container doesnt get off loaded in Long Beach, stays on board and continues back up to Seattle. Same ship -Greenwich Bridge?
Not knowing- curious about Seattle port- thats pretty good size boat?

Think you still have time to run some wiring...

Yeah, I get to watch it offload and truck from the Port of Seattle to Spokane just to have it trucked back to me in Olympia!

Such it is with distribution.

Port of Seattle can handle large container ships.

I ran 6-3 and a 60 amp breaker tonight - no plasma cutting yet, but I'll be able to use my welder to put together a roll cage today (yikes it got late).

Looking forward to another fun shop tool-

Actually, some news....

It IS getting offloaded in Long Beach and from there, it will hop on a train and roll up north to Seattle. Customs will be taken care of in Long beach. I got papers just recently with the new info. It's scheduled to arrive in Seattle on the 17th then it will be trucked to Spokane.

So. Sloowwwww.

When that date gets close, I'll notify everyone (both here & emails) to find out if anyone wants delayed shipping. (Few members asked due to moving, extended jobs, vacation travels, etc.)

Really looking forward to getting this taken care of!

So no one should expect it this month. It will take time to get it to your door and then to start boxing them out and actually shipped.

Sounds good to me, thanks for the update. That gives you time to catch your breath and recuperate a little bit too. I'm sure you are exhausted from dragging that cargo ship all the way across the ocean. You also really cut down on greenhouse emissions transporting cargo by 1 moosepower instead of using thousands of horsepower, so extra kudos to you for that.

Good news and thanks for the update. The new shop is almost finished. Got the finally electrical inspection last week. Dedicated plugs for welders and the new plasma. Yeah!

So think our container is on the train yet? Wonder if you can track a train :)

Haven't you ever heard of train tracks?

Apparently not in Philly... nor do they follow the posted speed limit... 102 in a 50? Yikes! (Wonder if the PA State troopers will be writing a speeding ticket...)

(Sorry to digress...)

By the way - anyone notice the tag on bottom? THAT is awesome!!!

A quick update...

It has cleared customs but had to pay 2 additional fees. One is the port fee for Long Beach and another for the chassis fee since it's not a full load. I'm hoping that with the absence of the Seattle port fee, it will balance out.

The shipment is scheduled to arrive in Seattle via rail this Friday and from that point, it's a matter of scheduling a delivery.

More updates to come right after the holiday and hopefully, the first units will be sent via UPS shortly!
