I really really hope this isn't true. I thought they were supposed to be pretty bulletproof. Plus, I really have low hopes about getting local warranty service for mine. I'll have to send mine back if they break
It's always hard to call someone on an excuse like that, but oh well
The part that looks broke - is it from the pawl?
Also, ask him if you can have the package of the guts to see what the country of origin is![]()

Looks like the non-USA made Snap on is not as good as its old products.

Thread subject, your username and your first post..![]()

I'm glad to find this forum. The picture helped me to get my username. .![]()
Are you sure your username doesn't have anything to do with leprosy.![]()

Now that would be a funny (in a shadenfreude way) coincidence.![]()

You said that before in another thread. I asked you if you've ever tried RLL in a 30 or 36 tooth ratchet and you never did answer. "Don't knock it 'till you try it" applies very well in this case.
According to my dealer who I asked about this today S80, F80 and T72 bodies are forged in the U.S.A. as is the final assembly. The guts are imported from the other side of the Pacific. He either doesn't know or wouldn't say which particular country.

Why just import the guts?? Doesn't make sense to me.

Somebody on here once said the ratchet guts were made in Japan because Snap-on didn't have the machinery to make them accurately enough; of course that's hearsay, but it would be a good explanation if it were true.![]()

No it's from the piece that connects to the selector switch.
