Anybody knows how to change ratchet repair kit in a CJBG0815 1/4 drive ratchet. The reverse lever seems permanently attached in the ratchet housingm, so its impossible to take the guts out.
And what is the part nr?

I managed to dislocate some springs inside when i tried to open the ratchet.

FYI, only the low gear count, all metal ratchets are the ones I have seen so far that are riveted together. Just one of the reasons I tend not to want these in my inventory.
So, more than likely I will have to replace his ratchet with a better quality one and eat the difference, which doesn't bother me at all.

Well if they're riveted together, that should be easy enough to spot. ;)

If you want to be more like Sears, you'd replace the guy's ratchet with a LESSER quality unit. :D

Or refuse to warranty it all together because they are used more than twice a year.

Mike, so does TOPTUL actually have head kits available for you to service ratchets or to send out to customers? I am just curios; it may not be cost effective but I was wondering if they have repair kits... this is more of a question about TOPTUL as opposed to your customer service. We KNOW you will make things right, regardless! Just wondering what the deal was on TOPTULs end of things; whether or not they even offer such a thing as repair kits! Inquiring minds want to know! Thanks! :)

Yeah, it sure would be boring if rebuild kits weren't available ... but on the other hand, getting a fresh ratchet with a new grip has its advantages too. :D

How has this site survived for so long with just one person selling tools to members, have their been others in the past to try and not make it, is toptul ok with a franchisee selling online (i.e. no territories, or chance of face to face service). I'm not trying to call you out mike, I've just been interested in selling tools for quite sometime (don't worry I have a different brand in mind). I just thought most tool brands were quite restrictive in their method of sales/customer service.
hypothetically what would the members of garage journal do if someone else in another part of the country started trying to sell toptul products by way of this forum.

Maybe you should contact TOPTUL from their website and they could tell you who the nearest dealer is in Norway!
http://www.toptul.com/
Click on "contact"; on the top, the last pull down menu on the right.

Volvo......call me out?????

I think there is plenty of business for anyone who wants to do it well. I am not a franchise. I have my relationship directly with the manufacturer because of the amounts I buy. Also, there is no middleman so I am the one who goes through importing and shipping to this country.
As to how the members here would react? I have absolutely no clue. I am trying to build a very good (read almost perfect) reputation for service so there would be no reason for someone who is currently a customer to buy from someone else with the same brand unless someone wanted to sell the tools at a lower price. If this were to happen I would easily match the price and since I have been purchasing from the manufacturer for a while now, I seriously doubt that any new person could buy from them at my price level........unless they had A LOT of money.

There are a couple of other people who are selling Toptul on ebay, but I doubt they have the diverse inventory I have (finally) and it is unknown of they would replace any item for any reason like I am willing.

Face to face can be important...you are correct....but it also makes the business model slow, expensive, and inefficient. These are tools, not human organs for transplant.
It is my hunch that for a certain large portion of our poplation, the ability to buy extreme high quality at a discount and have it delivered, is a welcome thing.
I may also be wrong.......that's the risk.

And as for me not to worry?? Trust me. I am not. I am more than willing to compete with anyone at any time, in any environment.

Sincerely,

There are rebuild kits available for all styles, but I have not ordered them in yet for two reasons.
1. I wanted to spend my money on bringing in other items.
2. The last thing I wanted to do.......with this new business.....is give someone a "kit" to rebuild a ratchet that quick working properly...already. Not enough time has passed for the ratchets to be wearing out already so I know if an issue did come up, I wanted to just replace the defective item with a new one. But I will have the rebuild kits shortly.
sincerely,

Frimann,

Don't they call Norway the land of the midnight sun in summer time?? I wouldn't mind going for some serious bicycle rides as well!!! then some beer!!!!!!

I will check on the price but check for a dist in your country first so I don't get into trouble with Toptul.
