Just found the email & responded. Thanks again.

How are the shipping estimates working out? Has UPS changed much in the interim?

FYI I did not receive an email either. But I have sent you one.

No restrictions in June. July vacation to consider if it takes that long.

Cheers,
Ron

Guys,

I got your emails. In fact, it seemed as if everyone responded. After the weekend, you should see your new status from post #2 and keep an eye out for the latest updates as your cutters make their final journey to you!

Ok, I'm a little confused. I've been out of pocket for a while and came back just in time for the plasmas to show up apparently. I'm listed in the group buy in purple but I didn't catch the whole send in money order thing. Frankly I had no idea that my money was even refunded.

So my question is: Do I have a plasma and just need to send in a money order or am I out of luck? I'm good with sending a money order or whatever just need to know.

I did send an email to 'moose but I'm sure he's really busy and I was hoping someone else could provide clarification.

Kinda too late. They already came across the big water.

Aquamoose, can you confirm you got my new ship-to address? I'm not sure my PMs are sending correctly as my "Sent" box has zero messages. I am moving this coming week and am hooing you can ship to the new house (it's in a different state).

Thank you!

No worries Jim, I'm real careful about only sending out cutters with confirmations.

Sent you an email Aquamoose confirming my address. It's still the same address as on the invoice.

Thanks

For those who need a longer cord without using an extension cord (just replace the stock cord with something longer) what type of wire would you use?

Lowes and Home Depot will both have cut to length wire available in quite a few selections. I'd go that route, especially if you only want a few feet. SO wire will be more flexible if they sell that (they may only sell SJOOW and SOOW). If so, SOOW is a great route to take. S= severe service, or 600 volt rating (way more than you need), the two OO= Oil Resistant Outer Jacket and Oil Resistant Insulation, W= weather resistant (can be used outside, but more importantly, very resistant to water that you may have in a puddle your garage).

The biggest difference is that SOOW is often made out of a more pliable and durable material than SJOOW. Cheaper extension cords tend to have a cheap plastic like covering over them, rather than a flexible rubber one. SJOOW is often plastic-y feeling, and SOOW is almost always a nice quality rubber (Like EPDM). The price difference is worth it, especially in COLD CLIMATES.

Use this to calculate the gauge of wire required:
http://buyextensioncord.com/info_voltage_drop.shtml

Looks like the cutter draws in 25A. Voltage at 230 1 phase, and copper conductor. Play around with the wire gauge sizes and the length of the cord, and keep the voltage drop under 3% (the generally accepted value for the max acceptable voltage drop when using an extension cord).

To add to that, I've purchased wire for adapters a few times and typically find exactly what I want cheaper by the foot on eBay. The seller acdcelectricalparts typically has the best price and last time the wire was at my door in PA in two days! I usually go this route to avoid going to the store where I'll surely fill a cart with more goodies than I needed :).

This looks like a real good option for the quality price ratio. How long are you guys making yours? Someone posted an end suggestion a few posts back. Any other end suggestions from Home Depot?

I didn't see an email so I followed directions and emailed with my info.

I haven't heard anything back, but maybe that is in-process.

Not too worried, just want to make sure I've completed all required actions.

I thought the same thing. Check your junk folder. That is where I found my e-mail message.
