I hadn't intended to start a Parker collection, but....
How many of you have said that??
Anyway, I saw a picture here of a 63 1/2 and thought it was one of the most beautiful tools I'd ever seen. Had to have one. It was my first restoration. Then, one came up online so reasonably priced I couldn't pass it up. Then another. When I came across its smaller kissing cousin, the 83, it joined the family. Somehow a 94 came along, then a 93 1/2 showed up on eBay, and though I probably paid too much, the 83 was lonely, needed another big brother.
Here are the new guys. Now I have a question: Anyone know what color they were originally? The 93 1/2 has a fair amount of paint that looks original, and it's a very dark blue, Navy or thereabouts. The 83 is harder to tell. The silver is clearly not original, but there's not a lot of the darker stuff under it left. I think it really looks black. That would be depressing; I'd almost rather paint it the Rusto Regal Red that looks so handsome on the 63 1/2.
