I spent some time cleaning bike chains while my hooky-playing 1 year old (with a legit fever) enjoyed a cold beverage and his sister's fishing pole.

- a-cola or the powdery kind?

I'm from the south, so nearly any syrupy, carbonated beverage is a 'coke'; however, in this case, a sprite or mt. dew wouldn't have had the coffee staining qualities that were prevalent in the rear floorboards.

The powdery kind would have been a comparably easy & quick clean up.

Got the engine, transmission and transfercase mounted on the Bronco frame today. Had a few set backs but overcame them and tomorrow will hook up the starter, battery etc... and fire it up. Then start prepping the body and hoist to put the body on the frame. Still waiting on body mount bushings!!!!

What kind of racing are you doing? Car pix?
We are running in the Pirelli World Challenge TC Class in a Porsche Cayman. I'm the Crew Chief for #00 we are second in the point with Mid-Ohio, Miller Motorsports Park and Laguna Seca left to race. 1st pix is us leading at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park which we ended up winning.

I made a couple of these wood puzzle cubes. My father had made one a long time ago that was much larger. I scaled down the pieces and cut them from random hardwoods. Fun project. The worst part was plowing out all of those dados.

Well, found this small office appliance in my neighbors trash so I brought it into the garage...almost rust free!
...nice score for free!!!! :bounce:
attachment.php

So I took out the lock to see if I can get a set of keys made...it has a number on the face.
I also added a handle for the fold down door/desktop and a magnet up top to keep it from falling until I get a lock.

Here it is open...will be using for a packing and shipping station for our Croftgate customers.

Have a good day
Take your time, i hope your friend is doing ok. After reading your posts about the progress you have made one can only wonder what it now looks like!

Finished my drill press/bench grinder cart.

Added casters and a hook for an extension (which, along with a grinder, I still need to buy) then I bolted down the top and bolted down the drill press. Also found out that the table is seized in place on the drill, will need to figure that out and also replace the old power cord on it.

Went to my FIL to pick up a steel cabinet and a ELU tablesaw plus a few extension cords and misc. stuff. They are moving from a house to an appartement to make it easier for them, so he has't really a need for the saw any more. Going to take the two of them out for lunch as a thanks for the items.

Then tried to fix my GFs Volkwagen Golf/Rabbit. The xenon bulb on the passenger side didn' t work. but the bulb itself is ok. I cleaned the connector and put it back together. Then gave it a quick wash in the engine bay and wet through the car wash in town. Thereafter we replaced the seat belt on my fathers Mercedes SL. Finally went to a friend of mine to put up his shade for his balcony.

And damn its hot here in Germany...

Sorted 6 milk crates full of fasteners, screws, and misc hardware and put it "semi-organized" in the card files I've been saving. Also swept and vacumed the shop. In addition I ran wire from main panel to install a window unit in one end.............SOON ! And there will be a larger unit in the other end of the building soon as everything else is in place:)

At 5:00am this morning, I went into the garage, got out my Harley, closed the door, and rode to work. At 6:30pm, I rode home from work, I opened the garage, put the Harley back in the garage, closed the door, and went in the house to eat dinner. I hate 12 hour shifts.

Cleaned, vacuumed, mopped, and generally straightened up the mess I have made over the last few months while rebuilding a vintage garden tractor.

It is amazing how much bigger the space looks when it isn't full of clutter and debris.

I had a motherboard from the kids computer that had failed - I couldn't bring it back to life so they got a new computer. I decided that the old motherboard would make a great platform to refine my near non-existant soldering skills. I spent a great amount of time trying to desolder a capacitor from the board with a cheap 20/40W Radio Shack soldering iron. I honestly had several hours in the first cap - I had about 10 minutes in the second :rocker:

Moved a bunch of stuff around.

Got my ST1300 up on my Handy Lift.

Sheared one of the two bolts on one of the exhaust band clamps. Fortunately, there's two bolts, and I know the clamp will hold, because I sheared one of the bolts on the other side a few years ago.

Pulled the rear wheel. Fixed a problem with my tire changing rig, mounted the wheel, and pull the old tire off. Slightly tweaked my back in the process, so now I'm watching a movie and typing a post on GJ.

You need a few diagonal bars in that cage to make it work for a roll bar. Seatbelts needed as well!

I realize. More for looks and a place to mount a roof and some lights. What you can't see is how its attached to the frame. No way it would pass "tech" anywhere, let alone do much good in case of a rollover. Didn't really have a choice in how to mount it though.

I recently went through the grill purchase last year...

I had an old Charbroil- commercial, 4 burner stainless unit that I bought when I got my first house for ~ $300 in 2006. It either stayed in the garage or under a cover the entire time I had it. It made 2 moves with me. I was going to move it in the garage from the patio for winter & as I was pulling it over the threshold of the door, the casters on the bottom folded. The cabinet along the bottom had rusted.

I found a stainless Genisis, (just like that one) at a salvage / liquidation place for ~$600 which is substantially less than retail. I was elated! F'in A!

I got to looking at the Webber & the cabinet isn't stainless. In fact, there wasn't much difference between it and the Charbroil I had before. The biggest difference is the cast aluminum grill box (?) of the webber.

It was at that point that I realized I could buy a new Charbroil Commercial for $300 still.

If I can make the Charbroil last 8 years like the one before it, I'll just get a new one at that time - ESPECIALLY if the Webber's base is going to rust just as fast at twice the price.

Helping my son put another clutch in his Ram CTD.
Organic SouthBend clutch is rated for 425hp and started slipping in 4th while sand dragging. Now installing metal friction single disc, IIRC it's the highest rated single they have before going with a dual disc.

Have you tried the DXF? I think its the one with dual sides, organic and metallic ... The full ceramic will chatter like a big dog on any kind of slow engagement. Works great, but real grabby ...
