My new dream shop

We recently moved into our new diggs and I now have good bones to start my new dream shop. The rear garage is 3000 sq. ft. and has five bays. Three doubles, a tall RV single and another single on the end. The two doubles on the right are walled off from the taller segment and this is where I will keep the finished clean cars and all of my other collectibles. The tall portion in the middle will be the main fab shop with a lift and all of my fabrication equipment. The last single garage is walled off and will more than likely end up as a paint booth.
The house was once owned by a drug dealer so there is a false wall in the single that has to come down. I guess the DEA did not see the necessity in keeping it up so they started the tear down for me. True story. LOL
My immediate plans are to finish the walls in paint, figure out what to do with the floor coatings, find a lift and then get to building more damn cars.
The best part is there is another three car garage attached to the house for my daily drivers.

Holy cow. Could fit my house and garage in there and still have room to park a few cars :badteeth:

I Would not want to pay the heat bills on that place, that's for sure!

Thanks guys,

Where I am from Mother Nature usually has the heat portion covered. 110 in the summer and above.

My little one loves it out there. We leave the trike in the house and let him ride his electric motorcycle out side.:)

I collect and build hot rods, customs and motorcycles.
I will get more pictures as I get settled in.

DAMN!!!
Did you check the attic yet?

hahaha. no. Not yet. I have an escrow situation that is forcing me to "repair" certain things for another apraisal to release my funds.
After that is done I can rip into it and start checking things out and exploring.
Like why do I have 36" hollow walls in the house?
Where the hell is the second water heater?
AND lastly........Whats in the Attic!??? :bounce:

Wow.

That is beyond awesome.

How large is the lot?

Thanks again fellas.
The lot is an acre.
I still don't have any updated photos.
I have been spending all my time in the house trying to get in in order.
I have moved in about 10 glass display cases in the two double garage on the right and most of the collectibles and cars. The garage is 33' deep so there is plenty of room for everytthing and cars.
I still have to figure out how and where I am putting all the peg board and Z board and work out the general layout and flow of the fab shop.
I want to work in it a bit before I perminantly attach my english wheel, drill presses and other stuff.

I will get some updated photos soon.

If that's the garage - what does the house look like?

Just like the garage...But with beds....LOL

flatblack, Do not worry what's in the attic. Think what's buried in the back yard! hahaha

Being in Vegas puts a lot of truth behind that statment. I had my Dad sweep the grounds with his metal detector to see if we could find any fingers, with rings attached!! I think we are safe. we found more Horse shoes than body parts.

I'm jealous. Haha.

Even if the house is somewhere around 1800 sq ft it would be perfect in my mind. Being as I'm young without a family I don't need much living space. I'm guessing it's really 2500+.

Even having a few projects going on you really won't be too pressed for space with all of those garages.

It's a little bigger than that. The house is bigger than we will ever need. Its great for out of town family and friends. My parents are getting up in age and may need a place to stay during retirement, so I was thinking to the future.
I also run my clothing company and studio (design) out of the house too.

But I didn't buy it for the house obviously...LOL
Hell once the house is fully done I am sure I will hardly ever be in it!

O.K. So we got some of the cars moved in for those that asked what was going in here.
We have only been here a bit so nothing is even closed to being put away. So 'scuse the mess.

This is my Model A Project

Here is a little Buick we are working on.

Well on a little side note I finally managed to look into one of the 36" walls.
Man they must have had some crazy stuff going on at this place.
There is a wired duplex inside of a 36" wide wall with pocket door. The switch is controlled via a switch on the outside of the wall.
There are three steps and a ladder to nowhere. I'm thinking "growing" space.
So now I plan on making it a hidden hinged wall and keeping it a "secret" spot.

Well i've managed to get some of the projects in and the shop in working order. Moving really puts into perspective how much **** a person actually has.
Here are a couple shots.

I also started building one of my smaller welding tables for a side wall. It's 2' x 10' (2"x3") and will sit by my TIG & MIGS for small welding projects and to mount my vice and a small metal break to.

Love the new digs - one of my current faves for sure. Esp. like the display room and cases - we all collect stuff! What's on the bottom shelves - lookslike specific engine parts...I wish I have just that little bit more room to put the collectibles!
Have you done custom work for a while - and is it all yours - or there some "customer" work in there? I just started getting into some of that myself:

Thanks! I have a long way to go before I will be happy. I have a pretty big collection of old stuff (and new stuff) that has to be organized. One of my prized pieces can be seen here HALIBRAND - this is in the "house" collection. :)
What you see in the bottom of the cases are intake parts from a Flathead. There are also Stromberg 48 & 97 carbs and tops called "Scott tops" for the Strombergs.

I have done custom work for awhile (although it is not my day job nor do I rely on it as income) I am an industrial designer by trade. Everything that you see in there now are part of my personal stable.

I take that back, you can see a tail fin from a57 Chrysler in one of the photos that belongs to a club brother of mine.

No matter how big, it always gets filled up quick eh?

Ain't that the truth. Sometimes it becomes an excuse to search for more but as funny as it sounds I find it more difficult to organize with this amount of space.
Setting up the shop has been difficult without doing actual work on vehicles and trying to find out what was going to flow and be comfortable.

I was thinking about the size concept tonight and came to the conclusion that my 780 sq ft is just right. It forces me to keep it tidy and organized. If it were bigger, it becomes too easy to pile stuff here and there.
