We just had a Eastwood automotive tool store open near me. I went in today and it looks like they mostly deal with body and paint tools but there is other stuff. They have their own line of Pliers which are rebrand Channellock. They also have a pretty decent amount of Channellock there as well. The Eastwood brand Sockets and wrenches(also ratcheting ) look to be gearwrench clones . They even say "surface drive is a registered trademark of Apex tool group ". Pretty good prices too. They also sell Gearwrench and some specialty automotive stuff. So does anybody know anything about them? Are they a decent company? Looks like I found a new local tool store to go broke in. The channellock prices were in line or less than HD. The Eastwood branded were 3 dollars cheaper on average.

You must be out near Parma. I went there too. They said the official grand opening is September 11th. They are still stocking and pricing the store. Looks to be lots of gearwrench impact sets there. Harbor freight clone stuff as well. I saw their Eastwood branded sockets were made in China. Looks like it will be a decent store, hope it stays in business!

Their screwdrivers are very nice, and won the Truckin' Magazine Shootout. I bought a set and like them.

the brake flare tool they sell has great reviews. i tried to buy one but the warehouse had a fire and they didn't know when it would ship so the girls canceled the order.

I was actually looking at those. They had several flaring kits actually along with a bunch of specialty tools. I may go back and buy the 5PC plastic trim tool set. I tried them out in the store and they are definitely stronger than the cheap HF ones. They felt almost as strong as the Snap-On set I have. I need a back up set for the service van. I don't like to take any of my really expensive stuff on site. Even though I do more work on site and should have my best tools with me. I just don't want to lose them or have them walk away. I have been buying cheaper but quality stuff for the van. The expensive stuff stays lock in the shop box.

I've not bought much from them but have been well pleased with what I have bought. Glad to hear they are opening stores and not just doing mail order.

They've been around for quite a while although via mail order. I have ordered several things from them and have been happy. Mostly body stuff myself.

I drove by that store a few weeks ago, it looked like it was under construction.
Brownsfan, ever been to Parma Hardware? Looking at the pics online, it has a LOT of old stuff!

Eastwood's known for their paint and body shop supplies and specialty tools, been in business via mail order since 1978 I believe. I've purchased supplies from them a dozen times now, no complaints.

Their everyday automotive tools are almost all rebadged and are a little pricey, but you can get good deals on a few things-- the screwdriver set mentioned above for instance, is *nice* for the price.

Not so nice are their emailed 'deals', which you get almost daily if you're on their list-- They spend a lot of time on fancy page designs for your inbox, complete with bold font advertising 10% off sales. (Very seldom are there any real markdowns enclosed.)

One good thing is they stand behind their products and their US support line is terrific.

Who makes their screwdriver set?
