Not necessarily a true shop update, but I did pick up this DryGuy dryer for motorcycle gear a couple weeks ago. I've been using it on gloves, boots and my helmet. It works similar to a fan, but also has the option for heated air - which dries sweat quicker.

Typically at the track we'll have a little fan running to set a helmet on in between sessions. It often doesn't get the inside of the helmet completely dry though, but with this, it's dry every time. It works on kids' shoes too, after a rained out t-ball game. :)

Figured some here might find this interesting.

I have something similar for my ski boots, but I use it on other footwear as well.

Thats a pretty cool little tool/toy. Would be great for hockey equipment and the like as well.

Yes, definitely. My next door neighbor's kids play hockey and he's going to get a couple.

wowza, great build

Thank you.

New to this forum, but just wanted to say awesome idea with the lift in the foundation. Wish I would've thought of that when I built mine.

Thanks. It was this forum that gave me the idea in the beginning. As you can see, for my setup it had to be the first step in the whole process, for the most part.

That dry guy would be nice for my dirt bike gear. I wash my helmet liner every couple of rides though.

Yes for sure. I do the same with my roadrace helmets, but it's nice to dry out that bacteria that can accumulate throughout the a 90-degree day.

For awhile I've been keeping an eye out for a paper towel holder. Just couldn't find something I liked and to be honest, it was just a paper towel holder and not of prime importance, so the paper products sat in a cabinet.

Pit Bull, who some are familiar with, make the best motorcycle stands out there. They came out with their own paper towel holder. Simple and perfect for what I wanted.

Push pins to keep the roll in place.

Next to the sink, one for shop towels and one for standard use.
wkr_north_garage_project_250.jpg

Pit Bull's signature finish, similar to their front and rear stands.

Artistic, angled (and blurry) photo.

Obviously they can be mounted in any direction. I chose facing down so they were out of the way, but still easy to reach for after using the sink, changing oil on the bike, bleeding brakes, etc.

Thanks.

One thing I thought I'd never say... Nice towel racks! :D

The DryGuy is awesome. I've seen the Capit helmet dryers, but try and getting a pair of gloves and boots on those...

I absolutely love everything about this thread. So much inspiration. Probably the nicest motorcycle garage I have seen. Beautiful bikes, cabinets, Arais...everything!

Super cool.
Love my PB stands

Yeah, they generally out-last the bikes. Ha.

I love the DryGuy stuff. Keeps the helmet and gloves warm in cooler temps and dries them out quicker in warm temps. Not sure how I went this long with just standard fans.

All I can say is "Incredible build!" I really enjoyed all the action photos you've posted through out your career. What a great bond to have with your father, that certainly makes the whole project more meaningful, as well as a teammate.

The whole cabinet design is phenomenal, great layout, and space management! I had to show my wife your accent wall with the tile, as well around the cabinets. She does kitchen, bath, whole house remodels, and was impressed!

Thanks for sharing!

Was going to order two paper towel holders but the shipping is killer. That's still awesome!

I just sold my pitbull rear stand. Haven't used it since 2009 when I had my crash.

Thanks dubber.

diamondLife Gear asked me to take some photos and do a quick video of our experience using their organizational tools in the cabinets. You can see it on slide #15 here:

You can also scroll down for the link to see the hack on the video as well. :)

I know, my bad. Ha.

Not much new to report. Getting things ready for the upcoming season. Garage has been perfect for everything I've needed to do.

Only regret I have so far .. not running electrical underground to the main workbench before doing the epoxy. Would be nice to have power outlets across the the main workbench. Fortunately, wiring a couple to the lift table makes it a bit better - the lift just needs to be up/above ground.

I m too old to race- but I do support a Vintage Triumph race team here in the mid west. The iron is old but cool 750 Sportsman.
Race craft frame, billet crank flowed head all of about 65 -70 hp from a motor that did 35!
New bikes as same for GP lack the soul I like- not that they are bad- just not for me.
I have a lot of pals in the bike world- best know is Neil Baley- the guy on Speedvision we met when he did an article on a new Triumph I made look old!

my last project build= 1958 norton frame- 1960 Triumph pre unit motor- with bore out to750 cc- lightened flywheel-custom alloy fittings. It is a little missle.
Also the front brake is a very rare Eddie Dow model which I can not ever believe it was state of the art to stop a bike in the 60"s!!

Agreed. Phenomenal build. I keep wanting to do some sort of cafe-racer concept, but racing always gets in the way.

If you ever come out to Grattan to watch some races, please let me know.

I get to Gratten as I live near Detroit. I dont think vintage racing is going on this year at Grattan, I do some DE course there and I think we are at Gingerman some time this year
Are you near that area?

I'm north of Sterling Heights. We were at Grattan yesterday, just turning some laps in preparation for the upcoming race weekend in a couple weeks.

I think you're right, as AHRMA isn't going there this year.

Thanks Rob. The AMA did the article and didn't tell me it made the cover, so it was quite the surprise when the magazine arrived. Needless to say, I've requested several more copies.

Love this entire garage. Can you please let me know what type of overhead lights you have that are recessed? That is exactly the look I am going for and I have access to the garage ceiling above so it should actually be easier to install as well.

I have the same Arai Haga helmet!

Thanks,

General Linen, Detroit Michigan. Ask for Terry Nix.

Thanks for taking the time to post all this.

Another example of how nice a garage can look when people put some thought into it and have a 'theme'

brian

Thanks Brian. Much appreciated.

Thanks Nigel. I've had a couple Haga rep's over the years. Always thought that was a cool helmet.

edit: Recessed lights are by Crescent.

Awesome build! Love the new r1!

Thanks!

It's still Beav Run to me haha. They have made great progress over the last couple years improving the facilities. I did trackdays with N2/NESBA the past several years before the recent move south. Congrats on the win!

Nice and congrats!

Thanks guys. Here's one "behind the scenes" clip of a couple pit stops:

We still call it BeaveRun too. Hard to break old habits.
