who's the OE? is it also available as a blue point brand kit?
I recently purchased Craftsman hose pinch plier set 74Z706. The box they came in had a label showing that it was sent to Sears customer fulfilment center from Stride Tool / Milbar in Glenwillow, OH.

Hi I was wondering who makes the matco SCPMTW36V

thanks for putting this thread together for all of us. this will help me some since I'm am only 15 and building up a tool set. so thank you very much.
Ditto. Thanks for the hard work and effort to make the list and save all of us some bucks wherever possible.
63mothership: There are lots of great resources/threads here and a lot of b.s. too. Read a lot and research your purchases and you'll do alright. Always spend your money wisely once, rather than foolishly twice.
Matco's combination wrenches could very well be the same as the full polish Armstrongs, but I haven't even tried to dig up any info on it yet. Same as I've heard the newer MAC Knuckle Saver 2 combos are just Proto ASD wrenches. This thread is actually the reason I joined garagejournal.com this past spring and I check it frequently. I notice a lot of Matco's tools crossover to Armstrong. Apparently the Armstrong ratchet wrenches are the same as Matco's. Does anyone know if the regular wrenches are the same or if any other companies make equivalent Mac wrenches? Not Expert.

I've been looking at the gearwrench 120 xp spline wrenches...they look EXACTLY like the matco at half the price, anybody ever get these
Matco has been selling Taiwanese made spline wrenches at double the Gearwrench price for more than awhile now.
Adding now. Didn't know Snappy was whoring them too!Snap On PSLR4 extra long pick set ---- Ullman Chp4l pick set

No shock there. I have the actual Snappy comfort grip picks, and they beat the hell out of every other pick set I've used.Meh, those are the Bluepoint ones. The Snap On branded ones are still made by them and are much better quality
Thanks for the info. I'll follow up on this and get the info posted.FWIW I was looking through the Snap-On website and zoomed in on a few of the bench-vises they offer. The majority of them say Wilton on the side. Plus the part numbers start with 'WV'. So I'd think it's a safe bet that Wilton is the OEM.
Added the Gearwrench Locking Flex Head Ratchets to the Matco listing, and crossed off the Husky (and associated Gearwrench) Torque Wrenches since they've swapped them out for a totally different Chinese design.

About as much difference between the Armstrong and Matco offerings, or the 36 tooth Snap-On vs Williams ratchets. Mostly cosmetic differences, with the same company putting them out, and kits still being interchangeable. It should still fit into the 95% similar range laid out in the original thread. The Gearwrench locking flexhead ratchets are similar to Matco and Armstrong but, they aren't exactly the same. Aside from the Gearwrench version being made in Taiwan, the locking switch on the flex head is different being able to be accessed from both sides of the handle and the tooth count is different, 84 versus matco's 88. they're close but, not the same.![]()
Does SO make the air ratchets 3/8 super duty 7200 and 72c in house or are these rebranded?
I've wanted a good air ratchet for a long time. But $450 for one from SO seems a little steep.
Beats me, I've been trying since I started it.How come this thread isn't a sticky yet?
