Been working hard for two days on my high lift conversion and got it all done on my own. Thankfully I didn't lose any limbs winding up the two new springs! Was really not that big of a deal after reading all the hype/warnings on doing it. DDM garage website really made the conversion so nice with their kit. I'm in love with all the open ceiling area. Was a really fun project and very rewarding to do. I still have some painting to do and also plan to add an new outlet next to the opener (cord on the ceiling is only temporary). This opener is SO quiet!

Phenomenal upgrade to the space! When the door is up, you don't even notice it. No light is blocked from your overhead fluorescents. Lucky man.

Looks great! I had the high tracks put on both my doors just like that even though the lift was behind just the single door. I like having the doors high on both because the garage feels bigger.

Yes planning to do both for sure. Probably be a short wait. I think I could do the other much faster after tackling this big one with double springs. Was a good challenging project.

I looked at the instructions on DDMs website. That looks like a big pain in the ****. I'm sure once you've done it the first time it will be much easier the second time around.

Yes it was a pretty big job actually but felt good to tackle it. Too bad still have to do it all again for the other door!

Of all the stuff you have done, other than the flooring, that makes the best visual impact. I love how it doesn't block any of your lights now when the door is up. That is awesome.

WOW! Your garage is amazing. I am so glad I found my way back to GJ to give me new Ideas and motivation. I am curious how tall are your walls?

Hi thank you very much! Sorry for the slow reply! I believe they are around 11.5' high. Should be plenty of room for a hi lift and a car to double stack in there. Good luck on your project!

Thank you very much! I have the say the viper is my favorite to take. It is fast like the old camaro but actually has all the nice features of a daily driver. Thankful to enjoy each one though.

I hope all my fellow garage nuts are doing well! I've been working on a lot of home projects but have the itch to tweak the garage more.

I did my first high lift door/jackmaster a year ago. My wife bought me a second opener for Christmas so I'll get to make both doors high lift now so I'm excited.

So my next thought is to make some changes. I really love my red accent wall. Generally I think I'd like to make all three bays flow as one big space.

This means I'm thinking of painting the ENTIRE front wall red to make it a little less broken up. I also have in mind to rearrange my racedeck some. I'd like to make the entire middle the gray color and also push the red stripes one foot up in front and out on the sides. I think this will make the garage appear a little larger as one big open space. What do you think?

Here are a few current pics. I upgraded the home tv so I'll be installing a 55" lcd instead of this old 50" plasma. I think I'll move my toolboxes over where the table is and put the table in their place along with moving the tv. I think this will make that whole front wall look like one continuous wall of beauty!

Sounds like a great idea. Any plans with installing a four post lift? You've certainly have plenty of ceiling height! Great looking SLK55!

LOVE your build and been following a while. Yes hard to leave well enough alone isn't it?

Thank you! Why yes I actually have plans within the next year to do a 4 post lift. I actually want to do the Bendpack double lift on the 2 car side and do a single on the other side for long term plans. I really want to put a 5 speed ****** in my 69 camaro and the lift would be so nice for doing that swap.

I played around with moving the tool box and table around. I'm not so sure I like it really. I think paint the wall and rearrange the floor first and then decide on moving the tv and table.

Boom it's done. I love it and should have done it sooner. I'm going to keep the tv approximately where it was but I'm going to center it on the wall I just painted. The 55" lcd will look a lot nicer than the old monster plasma I had up. The garage seem more continuous now. I ordered more graphite tiles too - going to make the center area one big graphite area and push the red border out on the right side for now.

Thanks! Yes it's cool you asked because I looked back and it was 2 years since I mentioned doing that! Crazy how time flies.

I forgot I never updated everyone on the stone project. I actually decided to do a stone wall in the kitchen instead and just finished it up. Lots of work over several months but I love it. Here are some pics:

I also made a big project out of adding a built in high end refrigerator. Here are some pics but I went from a regular 36" wide to a 42" wide and extra tall built in model. To do this meant cutting my granite and some cabinets and moving my door opening. I assembled all the cabinets and then tracked down the same artist that did the original cabinet paint so I could match it perfectly. It really raises the bar in the kitchen along with my new stone/wine wall.

Wow, that red is really vibrant! That garage would cause a major adrenaline rush for me every morning!

Stellar looking Viper. Hold on to that one, rumor has it 2017 could be the last production year. Somehow I doubt that will likely be true though.

Thanks! Yes this is my favorite car of all time and planning to make this one a keeper. I heard that too and hope they don't stop making them though. Such a brutal American new age muscle car.

Instead of doing stone on the fireplace, I decided to do something different. I loved the vino wall so much that I didn't want the same stone on the fireplace competing with it. I really wanted to free up the corner in the living room but I also didn't like the tv being the center of attention over the fireplace.

The solution? Mount the tv flush over the fireplace, but I'm going to have a large piece of artwork on actuators that move the artwork out of the way when the tv is off. Should be pretty slick.
As of today I have all the framing and drywall work done. Going to have the whole living room repainted a lighter gray color.

The custom build actuator should be coming soon and I can finish this project out. This and the stone wall have been a couple of my favorite all time projects because I could do them as something different all on my own.

What's up Bruce ha ha! What's new on your '69?

Wow, as always, you have some great projects going on that are a ton of fun to follow! Keep it up.

Thanks Dubber! I always think I'll run out of things to do but keep finding something to mess with in the garage or house but I really enjoy it.

This is looking good. Are you planning on combining the red border on the floor tiles to make it one large red border? That could help make it appear larger. Just an idea. The interior house projects are turning out real nice. Did i mention before that my Dad has an orange 69 z28 4 speed with the dz302? Its not real fast but its a fun car to drive. He had a red 69 SS with a 400 small block before but it was an auto car. He has lost interest in the older cars we have recently. But growing up with the 69 camaro is what got me intersted in cars to begin with.

Red walls? New RaceDeck floor patterns? What the heck is going on here!?!

Looks great, Chad. There's something to be said for changing up a space that appears perfect to everyone else. Keeps things fresh, for sure! The house projects look equally as impressive. You are a man on a mission! You're energy and enthusiasm is really getting me pumped up for Spring! Can't wait to start tinkering around once the winter weather is gone.

Keep it up!
