I saw one that sold on eBay for 172 clams. Insane.

Apparently I wasn't paying attention and a fan sold on ebay just 2 weeks ago for only $79!

And yes, there are many cordless fans on the market. Interesting, that the Hitachi and Makita fan look very similar.

Also, Craftsman fans are in the same boat as Metabo fans. Metabo markets a ton of cordless tools but doesn't offer a cordless fan.

So I'm not sorry I missed out on the 19.2V C3 caulking gun...gezzzz...but I do want that fan.

Anywhoooooo, you would think that since they make the Craftsman 19.2V and Ryobi 18V stuff at the same factory in China and since they make a Ryobi fan....you can see where I'm going with this...clearly it's a Chinese plot to thwart and frustrate Craftsman fans...no pun intended.

I wonder if there's way to retrofit a ryobi fan to use a C3 battery. If so, I'd spray paint the the thing black and red and call it day.

They are screwing around with the miter saws as well: the Ryobi miter saw has a laser guide, but the Craftsman miter saw does not. Again...made at the same factory in China...soooo...what's the problem? Do they think Craftsman fans have better eyesight than Ryobi fans? It's the same saw!

Anywhooooo, would it be wrong to buy both saws, amputate the laser from the Ryobi saw, install it on the Craftsman saw, and then return the Ryobi saw? Or just switch around the cases on the saws and then return the Ryobi saw? I mean there's no telling what a fan (fanatic) would do.

The battery terminal connections are slightly different; the batteries are not interchangeable.

They say it can not be done they say it is not possible. They have not a clue we are craftsman junkies we do the impossible. And now back to your regular scheduled program.

Over the years I have not picked up any of the 19.2V C3 tools pictured below.

That caulk gun always amused me. I just figured I would never need to push that much caulk. I always thought that that was a weird choice of tools for the Sears stores.

Yes. I haven't used it heavily yet, having had it for such a short time, but I do like it. I think the one that shattered may have been a fluke. I've dropped my phone on the tile 20+ times and nothing happened, not a scratch. One day it slipped off my nightstand and fell, what 2 feet or so?, fell onto a softer floor, and the screen shattered into a million pieces. It just happened to hit the sweet spot on the side of the glass. Just my opinion. I wouldn't let tdbo's experience keep you from getting it if you really want it. If you do get it, however, just resign yourself to the fact that sooner or later, as we've discussed, you'll have to retrofit another hose or chuck onto it.

If you do a lot of trim work, that caulk gun would come in handy. When I replaced all the baseboards and door casings in my house, I used a lot of caulk. I would have welcomed that power caulk gun. Now, not so much. I guess if you're in the trade it would be nice to have.

Finally got that 19.2V C3 leaf blower today. These have apparently been discontinued while similtaneously continuing to be on display. A couple of months ago I offered to pay full price for the display tool. But no, we can't sell the diplay blah blah blah.... So today I'm pretty sure I got that same display tool for 40% off.

Oh, man, you're right. I can't add it to my cart online. Going to have to stop by at the store to see if I can find one.

Did Sears ever made a cordless C3 Grease Gun? Seems to me I remember seeing that tool a while back. Good idea I think.

I can't say that no cordless C3 grease gun was ever marketed, but I never saw one..

I like this pneumatic version.

I hope they bring back the 19.2V C3 auto-hammer for the Christman season.

I really "need" one.

There are a number of discontinued tools in this old advertising pic. A spiral saw, a planer, and a router.

I saw a NIB NOS planer on ebay a few months ago...just couldn't do it.

I have the spiral saw. Didn't know they had a router.

Anyone have the RC truck??

I had the truck in my cart to buy quite a while back and could not justify it so never got it wish i would of. That would of been sweet.

You mean one of these???

This one isn't mine; I don't have one. The one pictured below sold on ebay last week for only $69.88...but he didn't have the controller for it. Kind of useless unless you just happen to have a controller.

Not sure which rendition of the trim saw had a laser guide and that's the one I have. Didn't get it at the store, but had to wait for it to come up on ebay.

The current model doesn't have the laser guide.
The current Ryobi model does have the laser.

According to Sears' website, the closest blower to me is 870 miles away. I'll make a quick trip to a couple stores tomorrow to see if there's a floor model I can pick up, but I somehow doubt I'll be that lucky. Since they just came out with the 40v blower, I doubt they'll bring back the C3 version. I'll have to keep a watch out on ebay and CL.

Here are two different package inserts I have. Not sure if you guys have the same, but I figured it would be good to post these so everyone knows the model numbers if you're trying to find an obscure, discontinued tool or just interested in the history.

C3 = Custom Cordless Combos
XCP = Extreme Core Performance

Looks like the hedge trimmer has also been discontinued and the string trimmer is on its way out, too. I have to say I'm very disappointed. I was going to pick up a hedge trimmer and blower sometime next year. I've read that the 40v versions' batteries are not interchangeable (which is crazy) and the 40v blower is grossly underpowered. Again, disappointed. I was thinking maybe I'd just go the 40v route for the yard stuff, but not if I have to have multiple batteries and chargers and if the reviews are bad. Bummer.

We have the C3 hedge trimmer and use the original C3 Ni-Cad batteries I started with in 2006. Works great. Batteries last a reasonable amount of time. Wife like to use it. The C3 leaf blower leaves a little to be desired though.

I didn't realize that CM made a C3 auto-hammer. I have a NexTec auto-hammer with a fixed head. Love it. Works great for tight areas. Only non-C3 cordless tool I have. Wish the battery would fit in the "universal, multi-chemistry" Craftsman charger.

Was only able to hit one store today and located a floor model hedge trimmer, bare tool only. They still had it listed at 98 bucks. I said no way. Finally after Laurel and Hardy got hold of Manager Costello (who had some sort of horrible disease that first didn't let her get off her duff to walk out to Hardware and then prevented her from walking faster than turtle), I finally got it for $57 after a 30 minute ordeal. Hands down one of the worst shopping experiences in recent memory. This should have been a very simple transaction. Sheesh! Anyway, I'll see if I can find a blower, but I honestly have more use for the hedge trimmer, and even then it's sporadic. If I don't get the blower, no big deal. I'll just use the ol' push broom to clear what I need.

I have had the hedge trimmer for a a few years works like a champ. Make sure to keep the blades lubed up and you will be very happy coleman10. Keep in mind that thing takes no prisoners it will slice right thru thicker limbs that i thought would stop it.

Cool. Impressive for its size. What do you lube it with? Is silicone okay? I should download the instructions.

There are more of those upgraded flashlights for sale on ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1260-Lumen-...440039?hash=item3f55facf27:g:vBsAAOSwqu9U6iXn

He's asking $59.99 + $12 shipping = $71.99

1260-Lumen-LED-Super-Flash-Light-fits-Craftsman-19-2-volt-batteries

It's a little pricy, and a little top heavy, but 1260 lumens is super bright.

And it's a little difficult to rotate the head up/down, but 1260 lumens is super bright.

Did I mention this thing is super bright?

The guy almost makes me want to buy a Ryobi battery & charger just so I can get his upgraded version of that Ryobi flashlight. It looks like it has low center of gravity.

I bet that DeWalt version is just as top heavy as the C-Man version. Anywhooo, it's, yep, super bright...1260 lumens....

I use a silicone spray on my set spray it down after every hedge trimming session. Still looks like the day that i bought them.

Thanks. I finally found the manual online and it says to use light weight machine oil. If you've been using silicone spray and it's been fine with that, I'd rather use the silicone. I already have that in the garage.
