Has anyone tried do do store pickup or ship to store etc and than just cancel or call in to cancel the one item. Wonder if that would work. Then atleast they don't have to open the box up and check the item's.

Haven't called them to do this but have just gone in and told them I want to immediately return. Like you say, they don't have to inspect anything when you never even touched the item, and they were happy to process the return right away.

Actually, I need 2 things. Possible to crack 2 birds with this deal?
1) High Torque 2763 18V ?
2) Any sort of drill. (I have M18 batts, but open to whatever drill system)

If you already have batteries, why not do the buy kit use promo process to get a bare tool Milwaukee drill?

I feel like these sets were cheaper earlier this year..

They did this last year too. The what is now $399 kit was $379 just before the promo started last year. This year Im not sure, since the $399 Milwaukee kit was just released, so I dont think it ever dropped to $379 before the promo.

I had my blower shipped to my house and the dewalt kit for store pickup. I called and cancelled the store pickup. I was a little worried about the store crediting my card, but after 3 days it finally showed up on my CC. So I never had to leave the house.

Pulled the trigger yesterday.
Bought two of the Dewalt DCK296M2 kits for $369.
Then added Milwaukee 2691-22 Drill and Driver kit for my son. Took the price down to $99.
Also picked up a Milwaukee 2493-22 with the second Dewalt kit. Dropped the price to $67. I already had the drill so I sold it, the charger and one battery for $60. The hackzall with battery cost me $7.
I picked them up in store yesterday with my HD card and got %5 off as well.
They had a huge section with all the BF stuff already out and at the BF sale prices. I picked up the KREG jig for $39 while I was there.

Cool. I don't mind picking the item's up in store but if they don't have to open the box up Win Win for both of us.

Last year I always had to wait awhile for someone in tools to come check it out. I didn't mind since I was getting a good deal and just did it on way home from work.

I fix and rent apartments. I have been using the cheap Portable Cable cordless combo for the last 5 years. They last forever and get most of my work done. However, one of the batteries stops getting charged so I'm looking into getting a new combo. I'm in between Milwaukee and Makita, whichever one give better performance and price value. The only combo I can think of right now is to buy the 2x 399 Makita set & the $99 Makita drill & $99 Makita Impact. Return 2 set and keep the drill & impact for ~130. I think my math isn't at its best yet. Could anyone shine some light in for me and help me getting a new combo at better price?

The Milwaukee m12 or m18 combo kit would yeild better pricing but batteries will be smaller than the 3.0mAh I would have gotten from Makita. Performance wise, I'm not sure at this point whether Makita is comparable to either the m12 or the m18.

Thanks

Did all the Makita batteries get axed from the deal? The two pack of 3.0ah batteries were included when the deal kicked off but now no discount. :/

Would it be a bad idea to order two kits with two extra items and then return the main kits when I go to pick them up?

I dont know if the discount would be applied twice on the same order.

I tend to just do it once at a time. A little inconvenient to keep going back but its fairly easy $$$

And Ive even bought the kit + another item, dropped the other item off in my car and walked right back in to return the kit. No one has ever batted an eye.

Should I placed order for in store pick up or should I just go to store and buy all at once? I can't seem to get the discount using the Dewalt kit and a makita tool via online.

Chris, I was at HomeDepot in Bloomfield CT yesterday and they stopped me when I was trying to get the 399 Makita set with a 199 Makita combo. They said the 150 only apply to certain tools. I told them I can get this combo online and they said HD online is not same as normal in store HD so I can't do it. I'm iffy on whether to order via online and return the kit in store. Not sure if that would work.

Might have been because you were buying 2 combos? Dont know, I never tried that.

But last year I used this promo probably 10-15 times and never found a combination that wouldnt work in-store. I was only buying a kit + a tool, not a kit + a kit.

not everything qualifies.. its only certain combo kits that will trigger the deal, and bare tools, batteries, lights, and radios. you can test them out online first.

You can check it at self check out to see if it takes the 150 off, Then cancel if you want to apply any discount and go threw a cashier. Most people working in the store have no idea what is included or triggers the promotion. They did change a few things to stop the cheap tools from being included, but almost any tool in the dewalt or Milwaukee line over $50 triggers it. Makita seems to be hit or miss on the website but I was only checking there cheap 12 volt tools. If it works online, the computer will trigger the promotion when they ring it up. I Had a manager tell me a dewalt kit will not work with a Milwaukee tool or combo kit. also had one tell me I couldn't mix the m18 and m12 line. The both rang up 150 off between the two after the second item was scanned

I see now. I was doing it on my computer and the thing kept on showing me that the total discount is 150 without any break-down on how much each item is discounted by. I will try this using the phone from now on then.

Thanks everyone. Wish me luck on finding myself a decent price on a Makita combo. It does seems that the Milwaukee is an easier way to go though.

It doesn't show the breakdown but it does give you the discount.but if you are just trying to get the discount and return one of them the dewalt set is the best way to go.

It has been marked down to $179 already due to BF but I can't seem to get one of these discounts, any advice or am I just needing to bite the bullet and use the $5 off HDHOLIDAY code. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me

Add this kit with the Fuel http://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-2...ombo-Kit-2-Tool-DCK296M2/204678759?quantity=1

Your Fuel will now be $130 + taxes then you just have to return the Dewalt.

If your ordering online use the $5 off as well.

Getting that M12 kit for $130 seems like a sweet deal. Let me get this right...
Order Dewalt 20V and M12 for 398.00
Wait for order to arrive
Return Dewalt (no questions asked?)
Keep M12 for $130?

Can you return something without having to go to the store (my nearest HD is an hour away)? Or, could you buy and return at the same store in a relatively short time period (so I don't have to wait for shipping and then just drive an hour anyways)?

Is it me or did Home Depot just set every item to "low inventory, please check in store" ? So you cant order anything for store pickup.

I have a store pickup for the Dewalt set I was going to call them later when it's less busy and see if I can just return/cancel the pickup on the Dewalt set otherwise I'll just go in later when I'm passing by and just return ASAP.

You could do a store pickup for both if you want and just walk over to Return just say you changed your mind or whatever or you got a different deal.

I'm actually heading to the town with a HD now for a different reason. I'm thinking about stopping by the HD and doing the buy and return all in one trip.

You have until 1/31/2016 for the promo.....be patient "Grasshopper" [emoji6]

It did the same to me as we wanting to buy some wood flooring ......they took a lowes 10% off coupon along with True Value coupons.....9a88a37f094665ce1ff69f60f9bc451d.jpgba140193fdbeef6346190c0976e2bbe7.jpg

Oh I know that part :)

But the one thing I wanted (sawzall blade set) doesnt really warrant dealing with traffic and crowds to buy in store.

Figured Id do like every other BF: buy online for in store pickup. But it looks like HD is a no go for that (at least currently). I get that it makes more work on an already busy day, but Im willing to wait even until tomorrow to actually pick it up.

Did you print those ? Did you get 1 at a time or both in same transaction. I got 2 of them could use a couple more or even the Milwaukee one's. I got a free one coming in from International Tool deal.

It seems strange how sometimes the discount shows up for each individual item in the shopping cart and sometimes the discount shows up down at the bottom.

Yes......I printed the True Value coupons off the picture in the other thread.

Used them 6 to 8 times......but it's sill early!

I always use 2 coupons at a time in separate transactions. One right after another [emoji6]

I found there is a different promotion that seems to apply to Makita LXT cordless stuff on Homedepot.com. Just about any combination of Makita LXT stuff that adds up to $335 or more gets $100 off and go to $435 and get $150 off. Cordless LXT flashlights and the LXT chainsaw don't seem to work.

No idea how a return would work with this.

Note: I didn't read this entire thread and it may show...

I just placed two online orders, one in my name and one in my wife's.

I ordered a qualifying kit and the Black Friday M12 Fuel Drill/Driver kit
My wife ordered a qualifying kit and the Black Friday M12 Drill/Hackzall Kit

Should we pick everything up then come back to the store at a later time to return the qualifying kits, or should we just cancel the qualifying kits during pickup. I really don't want any risk of hassle.

Return right there. Don't even take possession of it, then there's no question if you took tools out & replaced w bricks.

I just cancelled my DeWalt kit. I'd say the way I did it is arguably the least hassle: order online. For the item you want, select free ship to home. For the kit you dont, select in-store pickup. Then call and cancel the store item once you're notified it's ready.

This may not always work of course if the kit is not in stock at your local store. And the biggest thing I see w my approach is that it appears (I think) that the whole transaction is taxed on the store in which you selected pickup. So, you wind up paying a bit more tax, BUT you never have to step foot in a store, there's zero chance they can suspect you tampered w the kit you're returning, and the item you want is delivered to your door.

Awesome.

I stopped by ACE and True yesterday and grabbed a few of each so I had the one's in the printed ad's. Used the ACE yesterday since only was good 1 day.

Grabbed 1 of Dewalt and 1 Milwaukee Organizer. Got 2 of the Ridgid Miter Stand 1st store said no but I bought it anyway's, 2nd store agreed to it and they almost have my the 50% and not the $15 for the stand. Then I also picked up 2 of the Milwaukee backpacks they are $59 and got $15 off those.

I just did 1 at a time and then walked to car put item in trunk and went back in. Hit up 3 store's on my way to Friday night bowling. Well 4 since I had to drop the 1st stand off couldn't fit 2 in the car but that store is local only 1 mile away.

Going to use those True one's Sunday or Monday when I'm out and about.

I couldn't make it to the store that had my Dewalt kit I have to return but got a text today that it will be cancelled if not picked up. So why bother right ?

I can't even fathom my local home depot stores honoring a 50% off coupon.
