Has anyone made modifications to the Harbor Freight motorcycle lift?
Put this "shelf" on one of mine today to hold cans/tools/bolts. 9d06e30f702a537124d8e5d59070d4b0.jpg
Planning on running more down the sides.
What have you done to yours?

I don't have a pic but I put a small vise on the front of mine . That lift was the best 300 bux I spent on my bike

Have done a few modifications to mine in the three months I have owned it, all in preparation of recessing the lift in the floor.

First was removable side extensions so atv’s could fit on it . Center section removes once the atv is in the air so I do have to work over it. Still have to get paint on them.

Next was a new safety locking system. Once the lift is recessed the safety lock bar that came with the lift will no longer work for Me.

The next items were making a new wheel chock then cutting key holes for all tie downs and attachments, everything removes with no tools so once it is in the floor there will be no obstructions to trip over when the lift is not in use.

I Created an account just to log in, and say awesome job. This is exactly what i was looking for. I'm going to copy your setup 1 to 1. Only thing i will do is cut of the lip along the side of the table, and weld another lip on the underside instead. I find the lip gets in the way a lot.

Bought mine used. Guy cut the left side lip and made a kickstand platform so if you remove the wheel chock you can just drop the kickstand to load bike on.

I've never used it that way. Doubt I ever will.

I had originally planned to do that also but in all the Years I have used it the lips have not bothered Me and they help to keep things like dropped bolts and things from rolling off the lift. I have used it damn near daily for years. There is another bike on it tonight !

One of my friends has had 3 of 'em and he uses/used them constantly. He reported no issues. He does replace the wheel chock/vise with a better one.

I believe there are two versions, an older one and a newer one.

I have a Handy-Lift, I've bought two, both used, and sold one to my Daytona Bike Week ridin' buddy. Six hunneret bux was the most I paid, and I got the side width extensions, end ramp and the two-wheeled dolly. I use mine as a workbench too.

I get you, especially if it is mainly used for bikes. But mine is never used for bikes, but for lawn tractors and other small engine equipment, where the lip almost always hits right were the wheels are. The lift also seconds as a worktable, where i do welding and plasma cutting, where the lip gets in the way when fixing down longer/wider things. But that is just for my specific case. For others I can see it will not be a problem.
Also - here in scandinavia, the lift tables are a little different. They are narrower, at 550mm (21.5 inches). Guess the reason being that steel plates comes in 1200mm wide sheets, so they can cut two tables from one sheet, and just have enough for the curf and the lip. So the table area noticeably smaller than the US version

New wheel chock, self storing extensions, and pump conversion to air over.

Self storing extensions is talked about in this thread:

Pump conversion is in this thread:
