Hello,
I'm new to the forum, but have been browsing for awhile. I'm looking to pull the trigger and some Newage Cabinets and I noticed the sale that ends soon.
Is the $800 off a set of pro series a good deal?

Thanks!

I recently purchased the Performance Plus cabinets and I think the quality is great. I don't have experience with the Pro model. I think the Performance Plus would be plenty sturdy for most residential garages.

Definitely a great deal, I have the 12pc bold series and its astounding the amount of weight they can safely hold.. plenty strong for the average user. Holds all of my power tools etc. Check my shop renovation out through my profile and you can see how they all came together.

I just found these as well. Stoked to see a distributor on GJ. It is definitely in my plans for 2016.

Do I read that correctly that if I order $3000 worth of performance plus cabinets, you are offering 35% off to GJ members?

Do you put together custom orders and still offer the discounts? I looked at most of the combinations and I really just want a lot of lowers... none of the uppers or the talls. (for now)

If you purchase 3000 worth of cabinets, you'll get 20% off the price of individual cabinets. That's $600 off or 2400 bucks.

If you purchase $3000 worth of the Performance Plus Cabinets you'll receive an additional 15% off the 2400. That's an additional 360 bucks off or 2040 dollars for 3000 bucks worth of Performance Plus Cabinets ONLY.

This additional 15% is only on Performance Plus Cabinets and doesn't include worktops. The extra 15% includes the Performance Plus Cabinets sets shown on our website.

Most of my sales come from customers who don't want the pre configured sets.

Click here or on my signature for a link to the build your own page. :see:

Shipping is free. We only ship to the continental United States. That doesn't include Canada, but I read on the internet that we might be absorbing Canada in a few years.

Happy Thanksgiving :drink:

I am going to buy some of these when I build my garage in the spring (hopefully)

A lot of the packages don't offer exactly what I want. Don't need work tops and not the right amount of base cabinets vs wall cabinets. But when I try and buy what I want it ends up being 2x the price.

Can you offer custom packages?

What kind of quality differences are we talking b/w the pro and the performance and performance plus? Because I'm not really a fan of the diamond plate look.

I have been looking for a while and am narrowed down to New Age and Ulti-mate

I noticed in the performance plus details it states " can be purchased fully welded". What comes into play here, more or less shipping costs? How much of a difference does it make when they are welded verses bolted? Thanks

I believe a foreign country ........ Canada!
From what I read it is a Canadian company, but built in China.

I found the website a bit obscure as to the varying quality levels. From what I gathered, lowest to highest, it goes: Bold, Performance, Performance Plus, Performance Plus Diamond and Pro.

I like the Performance Plus the best, but probably just because it comes in blue.

I noticed on the NewAge website they charge the same in CAD as US. That means a 30% savings if you buy in Canada. Very rare to see that. With that being said the vendor on here has great pricing also.

NewAge sells a line of 24 gauge cabinets that are called Bold RTA as in ready to assemble. A welded cabinet is stronger, won't weaken over time and comes complete. I've had a customer tell me that it was 30 minutes per cabinet to build. Probably an exaggeration. If you purchased a 24 piece set, it would be kinda nice not to have to bolt them together.

The rest of the lines are welded in the factory in China. The company that imports the cabinets is located in Ontario, Canada. They have multiple warehouse spaces across the US and in Canada.

Performance Plus Cabinets are made of 1mm thick steel (between 19 and 20 gauge) the Pro Series are 18 gauge. They are both built in the same factories.

Has anyone used the Performance NewAge cabinets? For $1000 on their year end clearance, you can get a very nice set, but it's 24gauge, so I'm afraid it's going to be too thin.

I guess it depends on what you use the cabinets for. If you're storing sports equipment and car cleaning supplies the 24 gauge would work for you. If you store chain saws and a drawer full of all your hand tools? I have a 10" miter box and a small table saw in my cabinets.

The End of Year Sale I'm running is on Performance Plus Cabinets, that's the heavier line of cabinets.

Search for NewAge Cabinets on Garage Journey and you'll find comments from customers who have purchased either the light or heavier line.

Thanks for the reply!

I'm definitely going to have heavy tools in there. I've done a lot of searching on here and on vendor sites and it's a mixed review on the Performance line. Some say it's too thin, others praise it, but it is only 24 gauge. So I think I'll skip that.

NewAge is having a big sale on their own site, I'm sure you're aware. I know your sale is really good, but their Performance line came in cheaper then your sale.
For example, the Performance 26239 8-piece set is on sale for $999. I may be leaning toward Ultimate Garage Pro or Saber.

NewAge has two pricing set ups. The best pricing goes to the big box and warehouse stores, think Costco or Home Depot. My site is set up for people who want something other than the sets the big guys sell. It's a pick what you want.

Had a hotel chain purchase 52 Pro Series Tool Cabinets. They used them as dressers in their kid themed suites at Disney World.

The Saber cabinets look good, but they're knock down. NewAge cabinets are welded, makes a difference if you buy more cabinets.

I don't have any experience with the lower grade New Age cabinets but I have had their Pro series cabinets for well over 2 years now and have given them a good workout. They have really held up well and I would imagine their Performance Plus series are also well made cabinets.

Found this video of the NewAge Performance Plus line if anyone needs a bit more of a visual.

Very helpful. The reviewer must have spent $20k on those. He didn't occur to be overly thrilled with them.

If I spent that much money I would expect to be over the moon.

I too have the Pro series. Bought from Costco, shipped to my door. Love them ,3 years in now. The only thing I wished I'd done different was built a kitchen cabinet base first and set cabinets on top of that and not used their adjustable legs. It's a pain to clean under them. And the adjustable part is true but you can't from inside the cabinet. You have to pull out, adjust slide in , check? , pull out adjust and so on. It's a pain if your fussy!
The wall cabs were easy , I French cleated them.
Bolted them all together and had couple buddy's help , we lifted them all into place at once. I'll post pics of wall cabs later, none on my phone. 52b513214838d825e2b1fa9bd0a0399a.jpg4d43696e924ce32ee53cce1aada558d3.jpg

My garage has some of the foundation exposed where the garage exterior wall is made of 2 x 4's instead of the 2 x 6's used for walls attached to the interior of the house. Built a toe kick level with the top of the foundation so the cabinets would attach to the walls without some sort of filler. The garage slopes about 4 inches toward the roll up door.

Works great and no dust bunnies.

Hey Overkill - Can you tell me how high the base of the cabinet is off the ground? I'm planning to run some heating ducts under mine when I get them, and I need to know how much space there is.

I might do as you've suggested and just build them up to the height I want them and throw the feet away.

This is my layout plan. The furnace is in the left closet, so I want the heating ducts to run underneath to more evenly distribute the heat.

ps - It's good to hear from you again.

Yup, I sure will. It's a little more work to build the base but I think it would be way better IMO. I wished I had done it but I was 1/2 way installed and then thought of it.

I'll take some bad pictures with my old iPhone. Lol
Time for new one!!

Thanks Overkill. It looks like I'm going to have to run rectangular ducts instead of round ones. That's the only way to get the needed volume.

And ya - throw out that phone!

Side note - I did contact NewAge directly to inquire about pricing. They were willing to offer a 10% discount, but nothing close to the 35% from Black Friday. I will wait until a sale comes along. My wife gave me approval to buy!! (yay!). I guess she can understand the need for good cupboards, but not the need to racedeck flooring or a 4 post lift.

Very cool. I didn't realize Staples carried them. They don't appear to have the Perf Plus line though.

The sales at Costco seem to be on "sets". I just need a bunch of singles.

Take the 5 drawer base cabinet for example.
350-419797-894__1.jpg

Newage wants $529 CAD
Costco wants $499 CAD

On Black Friday Newage had them for $349 CAD each. Now the best they will do is $476 CAD.

Since I'm planning to buy 6 or 7 I'll wait for the right price.

Anyone notice everything the guy had is new and in perfect shape. Even the Jeep frame didn't have a spec of dust on it. One day I wanna win the lotto so I can build a shop with all new stuff. :D

Still a very nice collection and very clean install.

Hey now your thinking. I often buy across the border to leverage the exchange rate. I gotta find someone in Canada who will ship to the US.

The pricing is so effin confusing. Everyone has totally different combinations. Performance, performance plus, performance plus diamond yada. Why cant it just be level 1,2,3,4,5 etc. Now I'm gonna have to go look at Saber just cause they're so fricken confusion. End rant.

NewAge makes sets for individual retailers, that way Costco and Home Depot don't compete on prices. The prices they offer to smaller distributors like myself are based on each order. The Performance and Bold Series are smaller and made of lighter gauge material. Performance Plus and the Pro Series cabinets larger and heavier.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, if you stare at it long enough I guess... Really though, that spreadsheet starts with the best line at 18 gauge. Then goes 24, 24, and then 20? Would it be that hard to print em in order good better best?

New Age is currently offering a ~30% off sale on a variety of cabinets. It happens to include the tool and base Performance Plus cabinets I'm interested in. I'll be placing an order.

Sale ends Feb 29th, 2016.
